I'd say just fuck it and go for #2. Make her into you before you start with obvious moves, wind things down slowly with #1. You said you've only known her for a week, it's not like you have a big love affair going on. I'd go straight for #2 and deal with the fallout of whatever happens after.

Maybe my experience is anomalous, but IME if you hook up with a chick's friend the girl you hooked up with usually won't start hating you on her friend's behalf.

What about an entirely different approach? I think the route with the least drama and risk is to friend zone both so neither of them get majorly hurt and get FWBs with both instead. Since they are good friends it is easier to get a three way going on too.

This is a no win situation. You can either come off as a douche by picking girl #2, or be a hidden douche by staying with #1 and thinking about #2.

Looks at it this way. You meet a girl, and she seems to like you. She then breaks things off, and next week you find out she's going out with your buddy.

Honestly... If girl #2 is willing to take you from her friend, she's probably not the greatest person. And there's also the possibility that she's just jealous, and the only reason she wants you is, because girl #1 has you.

Also I should point out that I met #1 during the trip, so I've only known #1 for a week ... So we basically just knocked boots and that was it, and we hadnt talked all week until we all met up. Does that change anything?
