Anyone have their own personal success stories -- Where you went from being a "loser" who sat home all day with no friends and no girlfriend - to having a life with friends, gf, and more?

Sure, dunno if it's a success story. Used to be kinda akward nerdy kid. Went through hs without a gf (some white ugly chicks wanted some, but meh). Didn't really have a lot of friends. Had some close friendzone girls though. Went through college only got laid once and that was because I looked like the front man of muse. She was hot though. Some fat chicks wanted me in college but meh. Again not alot of friends. Friend zoned A TON. Senior year in college I was like wtf everyone says and acts like they get laid alot, but I haven't gotten laid in like 2 years.

So I decided to change. I began studying pua and eventually started going out solo every weekend no matter what twice a week, it felt like hell and I got super sad. Didn't have much success, after graduating I moved to vegas with some poker buddies and partied a little. Had more success, but could not close at ALL. Went out studied and socialized. Then came back to my city. Went out everyday 2-4 times a week night game 2-3 times a day for day game. It was tough. But slowly I got better, made friends with a super cool wingman who is now one of my better friends. Got laid a ton.

At one point I had like a 4 girl rotation. For a loser the feeling of banging one girl, while having another booty call you is pretty validating. But I don't feel like it's really a success story. Don't get me wrong I feel like I have grown up and learned a ton. But at this point I want a girlfriend. I want more, although I'm going for girls I find pretty attractive (asian nerdy girls, asian fashion girls) I feel like I'm some girl with daddy issues trying to prove to everyone that I'm super cool. (I'm a guy it's just an example of like the daddy issue girl that sleeps around to prove something to everyone. Dunno if that makes sense).

Pua doesn't really teach you to make friends. You can if you want. It teaches you how to lead and optimize your success with girls.

I'm not a success story, but I'm a work in progress. I've lost around 25lbs. in 2 months, started a new school and am doing fairly well all things considered, am forcing myself into new situations, and while it's (edit: definitely) a lost cause I've found a wonderful and crazy girl online who helped light a fire under my ass and remind me that fun is still out there to be had.

The best advice I've found after about 8 years of false starts and squandered opportunity before finally starting a track that feels truly solid and with the greatest real potential for long-term success is this:

Ego/Pride is not your friend. Ego/Pride is not confidence or self-esteem or self-worth, though they share similarities.
Fast progress, Low risk of burning out from discouragement and painful situations, Progress you can keep. Pick two for any given situation on any timeline. The latter two work for me.
If you aren't internally committed and willing to make do with whatever resources you're stuck with, you aren't going to hit your goals.
Accept that reality often sucks more than 10 guys blowing 9 guys, to twist some Patton Oswalt. Die or adapt.
If you aren't prepared to stick it out for as many years as it takes to get to wherever you want to be; you aren't going to hit your goals or keep your progress.
As long as I'm making tiny iotas of progress and/or retaining the progress I've made each succeeding day, I'm not going to beat myself up. Even if I'm really not where I want to be in terms of that day.
Cliched as it is think of Batman Begins: Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up. Michael Caine believes, why don't you?
Exercise and a decent (not perfect, decent) diet are absolutely fundamental to a good mood and a confidence barrier against self-loathing.
Never make progress for anyone else. Make progress for you. Ask yourself who you're doing something for as often as possible.
Find some kind of self-psych up routine. Despite being a straight male I've lately found myself singing this to my reflection and make sure I mean the lyrics and passion of the song. I think this song is a particularly good one to temper self-loathing/self-destruction if you sing it to yourself.
The only person who judges you harshly based on your progress other than you is an asshole. Maybe they're right, but unless they're giving constructive criticism it's wasteful to give a fuck.
It needs to be said again. Ego/Pride is not your friend. Ego/Pride will make you think your true progress makes you something more than you are. There are still loads of people better than you. If you can acknowledge this without being self-depreciating you're in a good place.
Often embracing the freedom in our lack of choice--even when the only choices are awful--is easier and more fun than having a galaxy of options.

Success is relative, but here's mine.

I found a new way to live. I found a new way to see life. I went from boring, depressed and lonely, to having to take the evening off from socializing, just to recharge my batteries for a bit. And, no, I'm not getting laid like a rockstar yet, but what the fuck? I've come a long way from the AFC that I was. The rockstar thing is coming later.

Yep! 2nd generation Indian, no parental support. Overweight throughout middle school, greasy, horrific hair, no style, and ZERO social skills. Didn't have a single friend, dreamed of having a girl talk to me. Decided I was sick of shit and slowly through sheer perseverance learned how to act. Changed myself completely! Lost 50 pounds of fat, gained a lot of muscle, and now i'm sitting pretty as a junior in high school and one of the top.

Life is what you make of it people, never forget that.

In high school I put myself in the loner/weirdo group. I didn't like the 'jocks' and their sophomoric tendencies. One best friend, not much interaction otherwise.

Fast forward to Senior year, I joined the Drama club. It was full of girls (averaging about a 6 or 7 on the HB scale) and dorky guys. By nature of hanging out with people who weren't total boneheads, I opened up, did crazy things, and was seen as a very attractive person.

What helped the most was that I was surrounded by people who are comfortable with outsiders being bonkers, dorky, and slightly bizarre. I soon lost my virginity and became comfortable around others. I knew that the people who appreciate my 'different' thinking were few and far between, but still out there. Also to note, the virginity went to a girl outside of the Drama club that I had known for a while.

By no means did I become a PUA, but I became more social and outgoing. This laid the foundation for when I picked up "The Game." Nowadays, I do better with women while being social and not worrying about gaming.

Examples of "crazy things":

*Put a garbage can in a tree for science

*Went streaking around the high school before the last show of "The Man Who Came to Dinner"

*Went to the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" while dressed as a transvestite

*Defended perceived fellow 'betas' from alpha 'jocks'

*Wore 2 ties on Tuesdays because it was the simplest way to rebel against the Catholic school uniform.

Tl;dr Get out of your comfort zone.

Yes, the below anecdote just happened even though I don't think I was ever as bad as you describe (always had friends, etc)
