If you have no friends and don't converse during the day at all - I don't think you should even be concentrating on picking up girls. That's sort of a big leap.

Slowly build. If you speak 3-4 words per day, tomorrow you should go for a 3 or 4 sentences but keep it simple (ask a classmate about a homework assignment or something). Then the next day ask two people simple questions, then start trying to shoot the shit a bit and improvise, ask these people how their weekend was, etc.

Then once you feel that you are capable of small talk to some moderate extent, then try to pick up some girls. I doubt you even have much of a shot at the moment.

act before you think. Just have a normal conversation like if you were talking to anyone else. about anything. just say hello. make observations. be confident, funny. change does not happen over night, it is gradual and takes time. girls, most girls, do want to be approached.

I think what you want to do is keep the conversation super-short and introduce a follow-up to grab coffee in a little bit. Also be completely direct in letting her know you are interested.

You don't want to stop her from behind. If she smiles back at you, you immediately want to just stop and say:

NOTE: If she already passed you, you can walk up alongside her gently say "excuse me" but you will probably startle her in a way that won't make for comfortable conversation. If you do need to get her attention this way, just apologize and say "sorry for startling you, but I would have been kicking myself if a gorgeous girl smiled at me and I didn't introduce myself."

"Hi, my name is X, what's yours?"

It must be said with complete confidence. Any shyness will rub off on her and make the conversation awkward.

"I like your name. [genuine smile and keep eye contact]. What year are you? / What's your major / What are you studying? Where are you from." Just ask a single non-creepy question that she can give a brief sentence on.

she answers

"Oh, me too! Are you taking X class? What do you think of the way herp derps?"

she answers

"Well [SAY HER NAME WHILE SMILING AND MAKING EYE CONTACT], I'm running late for a study session and my partner will kill me if he knows I'm late because I'm out talking to beautiful girls again."

(This adds social proof and flatters her and also makes her think you are generally in-demand).

Then if you're getting all the good chemistry signals and want to meet with her later continue:

"Let's meet up for drinks/coffee/dinner [later/tonight] and pick up where we left off. What's your number? I'll text you mine."

Note that you don't ask her if she wants to meet you. You tell her. You will either get her number or a quick polite rejection "oh, I am meeting my boyfriend later". The polite rejection is good - you don't waste time with

Should you not be interested anymore and/or can feel her being cold to your signals and want to break things off without getting her number, just skip the number step and just say "Great meeting you [Smile and make eye contact] - I hope to see you around campus again!" and head off.

Another note: If she is walking with other girls, as often is the case, you'll need to address them both but keep your eyes firmly on her. (i.e. when you flatter one, flatter the other two. Refer to them as beautiful girls instead of just her as a beautiful girl). You will automatically make her friend a trojan wingman in discussing you later.

Lastly: If you walk with a male friend (preferably a good-looking friend) around campus, that's the best way to get noticed by women. If you make eye contact with them, and then cut him short while he's talking to you to go quickly speak with them, it shows that you think they are more interesting than your conversation. And he will be adding social proof to you + bringing up your perceived physical attractiveness in their eyes, since people tend to hang out in groups of similar appearances.

Your main priority is should be interacting with people in general on the campus. Talk to some people you have class with before / after the class.

What you say hardly matters as long as you say it confidently. Don't over analyze it.
