Never underestimate the power of impacting before sarging. Back in my salesman days, all of the other associates would gather in a room right before we went out into the field for “impact time”. We would get all amped up and ready to go. Our boss would give us words of encouragement and we would all put one hand in the middle and break like at the end of a football huddle.

Enjoying the energy I got out of this, I carred this over into my own pickup repertoire. Impacting before a sarge will help build your state and get you amped up to have fun out in the field regardless of outcome. I'm a high energy person, so I like listening to dance/techno. I always visualise myself gaining the ability to look into another woman's soul and directly communicate with it. This may not be your bag, so you can adjust it to fit your personality.

So without further ado...

The local coffee shop was dead. The only one there was the barista, HB8. On first inspection, I wasn't too impressed. But a gear dropped in my head. No fucks were given, I was going to go for it. We make small talk about what I wanted to drink, then I said “you're very good at what you do”. This was my first neg that I usually reserve for anybody working in the service industry to let them know that I can see through the industry-standard fake IOI's that they show to everyone. So she responds with another industry-standard friendly question/shit-test:

HB8: “What do you do?” Showcase: I'm a professional boy toy

She laughs and I take this as her first genuine IOI.

HB8: No really, what do you do?

I go into a short bit about what I really do in a nonchalant manner. I roll my eyes a little to indicate that I care about my job, but I don't like to brag about it. Then I jokingly ask her what she does.

HB8: I'm a teacher, I like to travel, and I do little odd jobs like this one to pay for my travels.

Bingo, she qualifies herself to me. IOI #2. I gave her another opportunity to qualify herself.

Showcase: Where have you been? HB8: Brazil, Fiji, couple other places. Showcase: If you could be anywhere in the world if money wasn't a factor, where would you like to be and why? HB8: Back in Brazil

We make fluff talk for another minute. During this time, I make brief pauses to glance at my phone. Thanks, thedude108!

Showcase: I can tell you really like to travel.

Heavy eye contact ensues. IOI #3

HB8: How can you tell? (shit test) Showcase: I can just tell. I enjoy reading people. (Not the best approach, but I soon will recover) HB8: Oh, can you? (shit test)

I use this opportunity to speak to her with my eyes without disconnecting. She ends up with a huge grin on her face.

Showcase: See, I just did.

She laughs and looks down. IOI #4. Time to change gears.

HB8: You like to talk (shit test) Showcase: So do you. HB8: I like to talk back. Showcase: That's why I prefer to sit in front of a computer screen. They don't talk back.

She laughs real loud. At this time, two customers walk in. Time for a tactical withdrawl to build tension. I go outside as if I'm going to leave. I gather my thoughts and prepare a scrap of paper with my phone number on it. No fucks were given. I was gonna go for it. I walk in with a phone up to my ear, about to end my call.

Showcase: Man, that is wild. HB8: Who were you talking to? Showcase: A friend of mine. He just got back from this interesting place...

Then I went into another travel-oriented story about Transdnistria (sp), very similar to the one in The Game. I do this as a natural segue into C1 to build a connection based upon her interests. At the end of the story, she gets a drive-thru order, then proceeds to grab something from the very top shelf, requiring her to stand on the counter. I take this as a shit-test as she was flaunting her body.

Showcase: Do you always like to take risks?

She couldn't hear me, so I wait for her to get down before I proceeded any further. Then, I glance at my phone.

Showcase: You know, I'd really like to continue this conversation HB8: Well I'm here most of the time. (shit test) Showcase: I can't do that. I can't always come to you all the time. (my shit test) HB8: How do you suppose that we do this?

I wasn't ready to ask for her number. So I pull something from under my sleeve. As hokey as it was, no fucks were given.

Showcase: Let's play a game. I call this secret agent.

I get heavy eye contact again, but maintain it and pause to add tension.

Showcase: Here is your first clue (slides paper with phone number onto front counter)

She makes heavier eye contact with me; I smile as two more customers enter.

Showcase: See you later.

Analysis:

It wasn't a perfect situation, nor my game was perfect by any means. But no fucks were given. I slipped up during my story, but no fucks were given. I drove on and made sure not to wear out my welcome at this place.

I rarely ever give out my number in that fashion, but the situation wouldn't allow for any other circumstance:

1) I had a limited window of time to act and I had to compete for her attention. 2) This wasn't a situation where we could just pull out our phones and exchange numbers 3) There might be a number of hidden variables involved that I don't know about.

Another disadvantage of the daygame was that I had only approached one set up to this point. And it was a tough one. Instead of focusing on the actual number of sets that I opened, I wanted to focus far more on quality.

The awesome part was that I could care less if she actually calls or texts me. It felt good to get out, practice, and flex some nuts without a care in the world.

Even though I felt that I ran some decent game and I can see the ways which I have improved over the past few weeks, I need some real good criticism. What have I done wrong and why? Let me have it, Sedditors. Down and dirty. Thanks in advance!

This day certainly isn't over. More to come later...
