I've seen this all too often, especially among up-and-coming PUAs like myself. We would try out what works for Mystery, Style, Sinn, AFC Adam, Bravo, DJ Fuji, or any other mPUA out there and find it difficult to be congruent with most of the material. It doesn't make us bad PUAs, it just means that we have yet to find an identity. Most of us don't even realize this until we are driven to madness from trying to shove a square peg down a round hole.

If you boil it down to the nuts and bolts, who is Mystery? He's a stage performer that emulates a celebrity-like status. He's like David Blaine or David Copperfield. His strong suit is having performance-based routines. Because of his reputation in the community, a lot of us spend too much time devoting ourselves to learning these routines rather than working on other fundamentals like inner game, overcoming AA, or closing.

At the end of the day, 99.5% of us have to put away the top hat and the goggles, stop wearing black fingernail polish, get rid of all of the cheesy parlor tricks...and start finding us.

Who am I? Well, I started out wanting to be the funny dickhead intellectual, like House but toned down times a million and more appealing to women. I've found that this really limited me to the girls who were only "my type". As it turned out, "my type" is a very rare breed. I've only encountered this fewer times than I can count on one hand in my life.

So the transformation into Showcase was almost a complete accident, but I certainly don't regret it. Sometimes at parties I get mistaken for the host or the DJ by either my attire or my poise. One guy commented that I was like a modern-day Bob Barker (thus the moniker). This wasn't at all annoying, but it wasn't until recently that I began pursuing this persona and claiming it as my own. Since then, it simply felt like a good fit for me. I wasn't the center of attention, the guest of honor, or even the life of the party, I'm the guy that looks like I own the place. I introduce people to the party, keep the party alive, and make people feel comfortable.

TL;DR: you're not going to find your own unique persona by trying a million different ones on for size. You have dig deep and pull it out from inside. It's something you can't pawn off of someone else, but something that is scrapped together from the finest prime-cut pieces of your personality. It's you during your finest hour.
