During the weekdays I'm a freshly graduated engineer. On the weekends I enjoy spending a night on the town.

At work, I'm constantly worrying about unknown failure modes, ineffective design and the validity of my stress models; basically what can go wrong. This calculating mindset naturally stays with me when I head to the bars and I end up overthinking all possible outcomes before each approach. I've traditionally approached this problem by drinking excessively however I don't think this solution is sustainable in the long run.

Alternatively, on nights when I stopped thinking and lived in the moment, I've had phenomenal results with approaches and closes. However, on the following monday I go into work with the residual "it's all good, man" mindset and I feel my projects are suffering since I need to slowly turn back on my compulsive analytical mindset (However this may be due to me being hungover and it being monday).

Anyone else experience this lag when switching mindsets?
