There are days where I just wake up with a stifled voice. Everything else in my life is fine, and I am still social and interacting with people, except my voice is meek and this discourages me from making that extra effort to talk. It actually takes effort for me to talk, which means I am only going through the motions of conversation, and there is no genuine energy or aura that comes from within me.
In fact, I have noticed that when I am on anxiety medication (which I am prescribed - although, I rarely take it anymore because of tolerance), the following happens:
I take the pill. I continue doing whatever I am doing for about 15-20 minutes.
Then out of nowhere, it hits me. Just this profound realization that everything comes from within you and this invincible aura surrounds you, except it doesn't cause you act like an insensitive douche, you are just intuitively and emotionally tuned to everyone around you. People and social interaction start to matter, and it is basically as if you are in state.
I've been in state many times without medication, I only use this as an example of "in-state" or my goal mindset that I wish to reach and stay in as often as I can.
I need some good concrete, measurable ways for me to unstifle my voice and thus, get into state or at least closer to state. I am considering just practicing vocal projection, singing, or reciting poems/affirmations every morning but I am always self-conscious of my roommates hearing me or waking them up. Should I just sack up and do it?
