Quick recap of one of my approaches tonight. I eye an awesome looking girl walking out of the bathroom and I approach. The interaction lasts about a minute and a half and out of anxiety I fumble by going for the #-close way too early, for no reason. I get turned down. Even though she turns me down, she is still standing in front of me, eyes wide, smiling and really holding my passionate gaze. She was definitely invested in the interaction because she was also asking me questions and giving me multiple sentence responses(as opposed to just "yea", "sure", etc...), all very clear IOIs because I opened very direct. I dip for no reason with my tail in between my legs.
I have heard similar things before. It has happened to me but it really hit home tonight. It is that if a woman is still standing in front of you, its still "on". I realized tonight that I've blown myself out a lot in the past by just leaving an interaction. A woman rejects your advance, whether it be for the number, the kiss, the f-close, or not reciprocating kino, and you dip out. Maybe the conversation just dies out really early on and you decide to leave(this is what has happened to me the most). It is your job to not blow yourself out like this. She blows you out. If the woman wasn't interested, she would walk away. It is crucial to stay in the interaction through these moments of tension. If a woman isn't responding to your move but she still remains in the interaction, she is just pacing you. Wait a little longer and go for it again. It seems like sometimes a girl will also be responding and reciprocating well and then go cold. Stick it out, keep it going. Stay in the interaction. I think this is what they call "plowing".
On a sidenote, it seems to me that anxiety is expressed in 3 ways. Physically, verbally, and through action. Physically by gyrating, scratching, quick movements, shaking, dodgy eye contact, bad body language, etc. Verbally through bad, shaky and/or weak tonality, quick speaking, and nervous laughter. It seems fundamental to quell these, and I have. No matter how nervous or anxious I am, my body language and eye contact is strong, and my tonality and speaking is firm and without nervous laughter. I'm now to a point where I am very much in control in this regard. But the anxiety, while not as bad as it had been in the past, is still in my head and reflects through my actions. I'll make a stupid move(like I did in the above interaction) and knowing its stupid, I still do it. Its like I am not in complete control, just like people who experience uncontrollable eye darting, gyrating, etc. The anxiety makes me feel like I'm watching myself vicariously as it happens. Maybe this is what they refer to as "state control". Any input from experienced people is much appreciated!
