I apologize if this is the wrong subreddit. Yes, this is a throw-away account, simply because my closest friends would figure out who I was if I used my main reddit account right away.

First and foremost: Seddit has been a wonderful community. I've learned a lot about confidence and really improved myself. The problem? (Or you might all not call it that), is that I'm at my tip top self at all times. Whether it's a close friend, a stranger, or a bunch of acquaintances, I'm always doing the same things: encouraging others to speak, listening, talking, touching and getting to know others genuinely.

Here's the story: (Bit of a long read, tl;dr will be at the bottom) A friend of mine has recently started to go for a girl, with a serious case of one-itis. Serious, as in... "I won't even check out another girl" serious. Let's call him Tom and the girl as Jill. He's a very close friend of mine, and I know he tends to become too serious about these things, so we've tried to calm him down all at the same time helping him with his "game". During the start of all this, I've only gotten to know Jill slightly, and I've helped Tom find confidence in himself to work up his attraction.

Long story short, we've come up with many events for Tom and Jill to meet up. Usually this involves my closest buddy and her girl (who happens to be best friends with Jill), who tends to invite me along (we're all really close friends). Tom's been really sloppy, really fidgety and generally way too shy. He's also missed out on many events by cancelling last minute (for stupid reasons, very stupid reasons), leaving the event with only my closest buddy, his girl, Jill, and me. Usually if Tom's around, I back away to let him do his thing. But when it's only Jill and I, I can't just ignore her.

It didn't take long before my closest friend started noticing Jill's been getting more attracted to me. (Well, with all the confidence I've gained from seddit... ) It became increasingly obvious that she'd find excuses to touch me, or to flirt, and I'm slowly finding myself more attracted to her as well. I've tried to keep my distance, stayed away, but with all the time I'm spending with her (because Tom keeps bailing on us) I'm finding it hard to not have feelings for her.

I don't know how to deal with this. Tom's seriously suffering heavily from one-itis at this point. But he's a really close friend of our's, and I'd hate to ruin the friendship we have because of Jill. But I can't help but start feeling something for Jill as well.

What now? tl;dr Close friend with heavy case of one-itis likes a girl who I didn't at first. His constant bailing (from events) gave her and I too much time together. I'm starting to fall for her too. What now?
