I can approach girls. Drop dead gorgeous, no problem. I get a little scared, but I do it time and time again. Clubs, bars, on the street, and at the grocery store I do it. I've been at it for over a year. I've got my conversation skills down to a science. I have girls laughing and smiling. I'll ask for numbers and get flakes. Why? Because I am scared shitless of escalating. I am constantly fearing its effects. The fear of moving forward with a girl beyond a first date has been consuming me. I don't know if its a fear of commitment, rejection, or a blend of the two, but it is paralyzing. I am constantly complimented on my style, hair, jokes, etc. but I just am totally unsure of myself as a potential partner/mate. I do come from a religious upbringing, but I think this is even more deep seeded than that. I have never had a girlfriend. I've had first dates but never more than that. I'd love some advice on steps (hopefully small ones) I can take to test the waters and get more comfortable.
