I know people love to respond to this type of question with "Be attractive; don't be unattractive", so I'll preface this by saying that I'm a good-looking guy and I'm socially "normal" - by no means am I a SAP. I have a cool group of guys and girls I hang out with in the settings where I typically meet new girls. Girls appear to show interest in me but apparently I frequently turn them off or creep them out by showing interest in them. It seems to me like going beyond being polite and acknowledging their existence is unattractive. And it's not like I'm laying it on heavy hitting on them or anything - not at all. I wouldn't even consider my normal way of approaching these situations as "hitting on" them. More like being friendly. And I feel like if I try to change my behavior to be very aloof and uninterested that girls will think I have no interest in them and nothing will ever happen between us. And so if I meet a girl I'm interested in seeing more, I have to play a tedious, slow-moving game where I very gradually show more interest in them. How do I find a balance?
