Background
I've been reading Seddit for couple of months now, but I've yet to take any action. This was my first real attempt to actually test something out in the field. I went out with the purpose of having fun and to blow off some steam since I had been working alone from home for almost 2 weeks. I also wanted to focus on my seduction skills a little bit, especially the eye contact.
Report
I met up with two of my best friends couple hours before the club opened. We watched a hilariously funny movie (we literally were laughing out loud every few minutes) while having a few beers. An excellent mood was set for the night to come.
We arrived at the venue super early and were one of the first to enter. Since the club was empty I decided to have another beer and just enjoy the music (it was great). We pretty much stood next to the dance floor for the next 10 minutes. I wanted to go in and be the first one on the dance floor and just goof around, but since none of my friends would join me I skipped that plan. The club was still pretty empty although there were couple of groups of females. I couldn't really see them because they were sitting in a dark corner.
We pretty much stood there for the next 20 minutes while my buddies got another drink. I opted not to get one because I don't really enjoy being drunk any more, just a few drinks is enough. After they finished their drinks we decided to fire up a joint. I do enjoy fine quality weed so it was all cool. The place was really packed by this time. Although men to women ratio was something like 2 to 1 the women were surprisingly hot. At one point I couldn't find an unattractive woman within 30 seconds.
Anyways, we headed to the dance floor and I must say that dancing to the music you love is pure bliss (that superb quality joint might have had something to do with it). I really felt like I got a lot out of my system and I was genuinely having fun at this point.
When I went for a bathroom break I lost my friends. I wasn't bothered by that and decided to fly solo for a while. The balcony had great overview of the scene. I just stood there for 15 minutes observing the scene. There were the wall huggers, mostly guys. Didn't look like they were having a good time. Then there was this slightly overweight guy surrounded by 4 HB9's. It was a funny sight because whenever he moved the women followed him like little minions. He also didn't look like he was having a good time, in fact the looked rather sad. I figure he was loaded.
There was this one guy in the middle of the crowd who genuinely looked like he was having a blast. Open body language and there was heavy kinoing going on (arm touching, fist pumps, hugging). I observed him for quite some time and he was working the room like a politician. It looks like he knew most of the people there or was a master of cold approaching. I wanted to be that guy. It's funny how clubbing can be such a drastically different experience. One one side you have the wall huggers who would be better off if they actually were the wall to which they were leaning against.... and on the other side we have guys who look like they are enjoying the living fuck out themselves.
I decided to take a tour and see if I could find my friends. I walked around for another 15 minutes while trying to make eye contact with everyone directly in front of me. I felt like every person I made eye contact with looked away almost instantly, like they were scared of something. I'm not sure why. I was reasonably well dressed and I was enjoying myself.
I've been working out (swimming, jogging, yoga, muay thai, weight lifting) 5-6 days a week for the past 1.5 years. When I look in the mirror I'm super happy with how my body and posture looks except for slight acne which I'm currently in the process of cleaning up. I'm not sure what to make of this little eye-contact experiment. I'm going to keep at it for couple of weeks and draw some conclusions then.
Anyhow, after 15 minutes of walking around I found my friends almost passed out on the coach (too stoned) and we decided to call it a night. In hindsight maybe the joint was too much.
In conclusion I had a great night, but I realized that I could have had infinity times more fun if I had had the courage to approach and meet new people. I'm thinking of going out solo next week and just observe until I develop the courage to approach. Any advice would be appreciated.
