It depends on how you interact with both groups. If you are more nervous around HB8s, then it you won't overcome your anxiety until you approach and talk to a lot of HB8s.

Is it worth it to do that - will that feeling of 'shame' go away?

You shouldn't feel shame for talking to HB5s. You should feel shame for talking to women that you are not attracted to. HB5s may not be as beautiful, but they may have other qualities that are attractive that HB8s aren't expected to have. They could be more adventurous, share similar otherwise 'masculine' interests, be able to carry on deep conversations, etc.

You shouldn't write a girl off as below your standards based on looks alone. And neither should your friends.

One of the goals of pickup is to raise your standards and have access to more high-quality women. It doesn't matter what other people think. It matters if you think you deserve a better woman than what you've got.

I think the 1-10 scale is largely missunderstood in the community. First of all, it is not about objective beauty of the girl, but how much YOU feel attracted to her.

For example a girl could be "objectively" 7, but if she has some piercings, tattoos, and colorful hair, she'll be a 9 for me, while a "perfect 10" dressed all buissnesslike and conservative would be a 6 at best in my view.

Second, logically 5'es are average women (more or less "good enough" for most guys here) 6es and 7s are the above average chicks that draw some looks, 8 are the "hotties", 9s are the super hot ones, and 10s are the Holy Grails that happen once in a year or less.

Yet, if you believe the FRs on Seddit, most guys here seduce 8s and 9s, or even 10s, despite the fact that this is not even statistically probable, unless you sarge in the Playboy Mansion :D
