Just Do It.

Always better to ask for forgiveness than live with regret. Don't do it just with girls, do it with EVERYONE. Hugs when you meet girls, handshakes with guys. Hand on their shoulder when you laugh.

You don't need to wrap your arm around their waist and put your hand between their thighs (that comes later), just make contact, you'd be surprised how much of an impact it can have on people's perception of you.

Start small, work your way up. But keep in mind, fortune favours the bold :D

I always find that a two handed handshake can help here, with girls and guys alike. Resting your second hand around their hand, forearm, or shoulder can quickly create rapport vs a simple polite one hander and set you apart right away.

Just realize it is not a big deal unless you make it a big deal. I think it helps to quantify the fear. An unknown is 100x worse than a known. Just think of what realistically is the worst reaction.

If you try to give a hello or goodbye hug, the worst that you get is a denial. No one is going to scream rape or yell at you or hit you.

If you go for holding her hand, she may refuse, most likely non-verbally by either making you let go, or avoiding the grab. She isn't going to cut a finger off.

If you put a hand on a shoulder to emphasize some point in a story, you might get a strange look, she won't eat your hand.

Also repeating what everyone else said already, become natural about it. Get used to touching everyone you talk to. Your mom, your cat, your coworkers, your friends. I see anyone I talk to as an opportunity to practice, whether it be kino, storytelling, or making lots of eye contact.

It shouldn't come off as something you are so nervous to do. You are a mirror. If you feel creepy, it looks creepy. So make sure to not feel creepy.

by doing it. At the beginning you will be hesitant and insecure, but after a while it will become second nature to you.

I was also in your situation, but trust me, kino is essential. It really steps up your game once you start using it.
