After setting myself the challenge last week of approaching girls who lock eye contact with me after 3 second, no time for hesitation.
Well this pretty girl, named D, appeared on the bus with a smile stretched across her face. She was a bit quirky and seemed to be stuck in her world. Who'd approach someone who seems to be talking to herself? This guy would.
Our eyes met. One second. Two seconds. Heart thump. Three seconds. Okay we're going in eagle five. I move from my seat to sit beside her which was fortunately empty.
"Well, someone seems to be awfully cheerful today? You're bouncing all over the place. Is it because of the weather?"
She says that she just came back from meeting her friends and is going back to study. So I know she likes hanging out with her friends. Bingo. Key way to lead up to asking her out.
Anyways, I'm getting old at the ripe age of 19 so I don't exactly remember all that I've said but we spoke a bit about each other but I avoided making it a Q&A session by using stories to communicate. By the end, I've made her laugh a couple of times which is always a plus when you're a funny bastard like me.
As a note, I use kino when I say something funny like touching her on the shoulder or nudging her shoulder to help establish comfort.
I tell her to enter her number in my phone so we can hang out sometimes. I don't give her much time to decide as my bus stop approaches rapidly. I say goodbye and we part ways.
Dragging out a discussion is a surefire way of killing excitement.
By keeping it nice and short, you're letting her mind fill in the blanks as to who you are and leaving a bit of mystery. If you vomit your life story, you seem too eager to please. Let them work at it to get to know you better.
This story is getting long so I'll start compacting details until we get to the nice and juicy part. I text her to let her have my number. My messages are very brief and curt. I also took my time replying to her as I'm a busy man and doubly so when she says something I dislike.
Me (Text): Let's go out on Friday. Her: I'm busy then sorry :( and i barely know youuuu Long delay... Me: Well only one way to find out right? Her: Well idk [I call her 50 000 years later...] Me (Voice): Okay well I'm going to see Warm Bodies on Saturday. You're welcome to tag along if you wish but I won't cry if you don't come along. (I perhaps could've been slightly better here but whatever.) Think about Her: [I actually don't remember haha] Me: I'm going to hang Her: I'm still not suuureee let me think ab-- [I hung up midway through her sentence] Me (Text): Think about it. Her @ 2am: Okay sure I'll go. Me: I'll text you the details the day of.
We meet at the shopping mall where the movie theater is located but she came up late. I rib her about it and saying she owes me. She asks what should she do. After some reflection, I could've said a kiss or something but she hasn't been too responsive to kino at this point so I'm not going to escalate in that direction yet.
My initial plan was to meet up at the mall and look around in it then skip over to the movie theater followed by going out for supper. I wanted to apply the concept of time bridging to make her memories remember 3 separate locations. Due to her bus delay, that first phase had to be skipped. Unfortunate.
We watch the movie and I try to kino her during the intermissions as we speak. She's a damn talkative person so I just listen and chime in every now and then. I seem to have a knack for finding girls who are poor English speakers heh. What sucked though was that her body language was very closed as I could tell by her arms folded across her chest and her body turned away from me during the movie. I tried looking for any openings but I gave up after a while and just focused on watching 'Warm Bodies.'
Note to self: Movies suck as a date thing. Locked in your seat. with a stupid arm rest standing in my way. I'm scratching that from my list of things to go on dates for.
After the movie comes out, we head on over to this pizza place I looked up. I give her a slightly colder shoulder as we stroll as I didn't really like the way she didn't attempt to reciprocate my attempts with any kino as an attempt to reel her back in. Seems to work as she starts asking me about my background and who I am which I deflect with half-truths since they concerned my personal romantic life. I've also established by this point that I'm a big joker and she can't figure out what is real or not.
Nothing big happened while we were eating but we kept chatting after the food as I accompany her back to the bus stop. I'm curious as to what she thinks of me so I ask as I don't really care about her romantically anymore.
I won't bother repeating the conversation so I'll keep it short and summarize the points.
D said that she hasn't had many boyfriends and only likes LTRs. She also feels the need to know a person quite deeply before she can be attracted to them.
The reason why I think this was NOT a shit test was because before when we were talking about who we find attractive, D finds that the person's inner self is what lures her in. Also, when I asked her who she found good-looking, she says that she tries to avoid comparing people. I honestly think she meant those words.
When I asked her if she knew my intentions, she said she thought we were just hanging out purely platonically. Yeah okay there. I replied that I only asked her out because I'm interested in getting to know her better and not so much just hanging out.
I want to try and find out where I might have failed in my approach of making my intentions known so I try and find out how often she goes out with guys who ask her out of the blue. She says that she has had a couple of guys who have attempted to do so but she's turned them down as she thought it was creepy and feared for her safety. Why me then? Well, I was funny, charming and confident so she went along with it. D also liked having the logistics planned out ahead of time for the date.
Not too shabby of an answer. She says she goes to a lot of parties with hot girls and I asked her to drag me along to those. Her answer was in the affirmative. We then part ways as I give her a hug. Perhaps I could have gone for a cheek kiss but I wasn't that excited anymore so that's how my night ends.
She's also a very low energy person and doesn't get really excited or try out new things after I asked her about her activities and how she spends her time.
"Studying and studying. I don't like going out much and just like reading books." Yup. Not a match for me.
All in all, successful night IMO.
