NEVER do those routines again (exception: you have two kittens in your hands when you approach the girl). the indirect approach is a very outdated form of pickup, and it was put into practice by people that were scared shitless of rejection. these routines and opinion openers reflect that fear. it's important to build your confidence from the ground up. don’t build on top of outdated nonsense. you don't learn to ride a horse-drawn carriage before you learn to drive a car. but you also drive in the parking lot before you go on the highway.

starting at the beginning means talking to women during the daytime when you're SOBER. i can't stress that enough. BE DIRECT. BE HONEST. BE SELF-AMUSED. EMBRACE REJECTION. let her know you think she's attractive. you didn't approach her with a chubby in your pants because your fake-ass aunt just bought two fake-ass kittens. FAKE FAKE FAKE. you're a man, it's in your DNA to attract women. don't cover it up. when language and words were in their infancy, do you think cavemen were struggling to come up with the proper gestures and grunts to explain how their cave aunts just bought two baby saber tooth tigers? of course not, that's STUPID.

I’m sure Erik von Markovik and Neil Strauss and all those other tools would love for you to believe they can read a woman’s mind. They can’t. Neither can you. That’s why you need to SPEAK YOUR MIND. the girls on different wavelengths will leave your life forever. the girls on the same wavelength will have sex with you. it’s really that easy.

now I know, as humans, we like causality. “if I do A, then B will happen.” you might say something completely stupid to a girl and end up getting a blowjob in the elevator. or you might say the wittiest, most charming thing ever and get thrown to the curb. it’s confusing. just remember that any causality (if there is any) comes from the nonverbals, not the verbals. Eye contact. Smile. Smelling nice. Hugging her. So it’s not what you say, but how you say it. and these nonverbals only improve with rejection. first rejection- kind of awkward. tenth rejection-hilarious. you become immune to fear/rejection and turn into an animal.

of course, it’s nice to get a push in the right direction, so here are some lines to use in the streets/malls/supermarkets: “don’t take this the wrong way [pause for tension] but you’re fucking gorgeous. my names ShootTheRat, what’s your name?” “excuse me, do you know how to get to the tiki bar/Chuck E Cheese/discotheque from here [pause for confusion] just kidding, I thought you were really cute so I had to come and say hi.” “were you checking me out?” “those ____ makes your _____ look amazing” [sidenote: Last summer, I told a girl “your shirt really compliments your breasts quite nicely”. we had sex that evening, and many more times that summer. of course, that was after 9 or 10 rejections] The bars and clubs should never be taken seriously. They are some of the silliest places in our society, and should be treated as such: “I know kung fu” “can I have your autograph/get a picture with you? (mistake her for a model/actress/barbara Streisand/playboy bunny)” “we’d make beautiful children” “you look familiar, have we had sex?” and blah blah blah blah. remember, same nonverbals apply.

I used to get so frustrated when people would say “just be yourself, ShootTheRat” because I’d inevitably run out of things to say to a girl. When you free yourself from openers and routines and social judgement, you never run out of things to say because you speak how you would to a close friend and truly become yourself. and that’s the kind of connection girls are looking for.

so Willem20, you’ve finished reading this incredibly long winded post and now you’re just staring at the screen. do you go into town tomorrow and start using these lines on pretty girls in the streets? do you FORCE her to choose whether she loves or hates you or do you take the easy way out and avoid rejection. if I’m being honest (which is important), I don’t have much faith in you. you think neil strauss’ 3 trait interview and two kitten lines are acceptable. plus, you’re hanging around on the internet learning theory instead of making actions. prove me wrong. I dare you.

TL;DR- Be honest and direct with girls. Get off reddit and go practice.

Well that's a sure sign that you should never do anything like that routine ever again. It's played out.

Don't look for pickup lines or opinion openers. Try a qualifier (presuming you are good at qualification). Sinn said sometimes he goes straight for qualification as an opener, "hey you look like the adventurous type."

ShootTheRat is definitely on point. Something to add though is that I personally don't like to directly compliment on looks or physical features because there isn't much for the girl to say in response: "oh, thank you!" is really the best she can do. You can go into something else from there and it can work on more sexually aggressive women, but it can also push away a lot of others.

One thing that stuck with me is a quote I read somewhere that basically went along the lines of "Compliment a girl on the work she has put in to look pretty" or something like that. Essentially the gist is that girls really do work hard to look good. So instead of complimenting on something natural, which is nice but doesn't leave much room for response, appreciate something she has actually put effort into, maybe something like the earrings she's wearing, necklace...shirt, maybe how her shoes match her outfit or her earrings match, whatever. Girls really do appreciate that because they put in work to look good; if you've ever talked to a girl stressing about her prom outfit or her party outfit you would understand how much that means to them. Another strong element of support for this is if you're gaming women who KNOW they're good looking, they are USED to being complimented on their looks and they become more numb to it. Being told you're hot for the 1000th time means way less than being the first to notice the work she puts into looking hot. Yes direct approach is the best way, but it can sometimes intimidate more conservative women (especially in the area I live in). While it's easy to say that there are more, I feel that this sort of approach which is not so aggressive, yet still different from other men and forward, allows you more room for error and less possibility for being labelled as too creepy or weird.

EDIT: Here's a little passage that sort of explains what I'm getting at. It's not what I read but it sums it up well:

..."Make sure you comment on the fact that her earrings are a good selection and match her top, or perhaps you can notice that her shoes are the “perfect choice.” These are compliments women can’t resist because most females put a tremendous amount of emphasis on their ability to pick out fantastic outfits. It’s not so much about how they look, it’s about her skill in bringing out her most attractive features."

openers arent about what you say they are about what you convey. If you want to skip the small talk then you need to cut straight to something serious although i dunno i quite like small talk i think it helps to build rapport etc. However its important to make sure you escalate and bring in sexual stuff in a joking way.

To answer your question then i guess id say you need to just use normal conversation but cut to serious issues, deep politics and philosiphy "whats your main goal in life?" "what would you do if you were president" also sexual stuff in a funny way to begin with something like " i dunno you and me are too similar i think wed just use each other for meaningless sex" not exactly openers but i think theyll help you.

I really would advise AGAINST using these fake/lying openers. Unless you are a great actor, the girls can sence that you arent sincere. If your aunt actually got 2 kittens, you could use this in the conversation, if you have a good segway, or you start talking about pets. Dont open with it tho, thats just wierd.

My advise would be to only use indirect openers(not fake, just indirect) to get in state(Or until you are ready to use something more direct). If im a little rusty the AA comes up again, and i just open a few sets asking for direction or something. I might also followup with something general like "Thats a nice dress" or something. These are only meant as 30 sec "encounters" to get yourself warmed up.

The best advise i have ever gotten, is to have a few interresting topics ready, where you have a good segway. These topics can literally be anything, just make sure YOU find it interresting - Girls like passion. I have actually #-closed a girl after talking about algorithms in programming, as a part of the conversation. Im a programmer, so this just came into the conversation naturally when talking about work and stuff.

My best advise for you, would be to open with something direct like: "You look nice/alone/bored/pretty, so i just wanted to say hi!". Be ready to speak for at least ~2min without much interaction from her side, and if the conversation dies after these 2 minutes, what are you doing to do on the date?
