So tonight I had an event I needed to attend. It consisted of about 20 employees and about 50 guests. Before this, I already had 2 meetings, both of which consisted of, "Let's meet up at the bar and have a drink." So by the time I rolled around to getting to this event, I wasn't really drunk, but I was certainly ahead of everyone and in a really good mood.
So after some introductions with all the employees and fraternizing with other guests, I happened to cross paths with with a classic "bitch face." You know, she smiled with her mouth, and not her eyes. She was more concerned with her "rank" than having fun. Which is an issue with woman as it is men. She is outcome dependent much like many guys.
So I came up and started chatting with a group of people she was in. Now, I'll admit, I was a little loud and and overly space-taking. However, I wasn't doing it to make a point, I was just being myself and meeting a lot of people. Now, "bitch-face" didn't like it. Even though most people in the crowd enjoyed my company, she would roll her eyes and look over at her one friend in a sort of highschool demeanor.
I'll be honest, I did want to be her friend, but her childish eye-rolls weren't going to edge me to try and validate myself to her and her friend. I, frankly, didn't give a shit. So I moved on and had a blast.
Later in the night I got her friend to give me a tour around the building, in which bitch-face came. Again, more eye rolls whenever I took attention and did my thing. Everyone in the group had fun except her. She clearly hated me.
Well after that, I end up talking to a cute red-head in the group and tell her we should leave. She agrees. As I'm doing my goodbyes I get caught up talking to some people and red-head leaves me.
Any ways, eventually I go and exit the building. As I'm standing outside waiting for the light to turn, guess who jumps up behind me?! Bitch-face. All of a sudden, now that we are alone she's more energetic and spunky. In fact, she points out how far my car is parked from this building and that I should hitch a ride from her. After declining, she insists that I'm too drunk to drive and should come stay at her place for the night -- followed by "the look".
I'd never want to be with someone like that, so I politely declined and went on my way. However, what I took away from this was outcome independence. This girl cared a lot about other peoples reaction, where I didn't. Granted, I wasn't acting like a tool but just wasn't letting her negative attitude effect me. It's funny how she went from rolling her eyes at me, to trying to bag me within a 1 hour timeframe.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
