OK so I have to begin by saying that I am getting slightly more confident with approaching. The only problem I have is with Kino, Flirting, and really controlling a set and well getting texting going. Please give me any suggestions on how to go about it.

The field report is based on a party I went to in university setting. Set 1: These were like the hottest girls in there. I went in and tried asking their program. She just says "no" and fuck off. I'm like sure...

Set 2: Then approached another 2 set. Started by simply saying: "i'm XXX" and then went from there. I was trying to build up my convo when her friend comes and pulls her away from me.

Set 3: I approached a girl by simply saying "hi, Im XXX, I had to come meet you". At first she seems a bit surprised and gives me looks. But then I just keep going. 5-10 minutes in, i get better control of the situation. I make her laugh and do some high five. I say you seem cool, what is your number? At this point she reveals that she is not single but goes on to tell me that she wants my number and that she might introduce me to her friends. She seemed impressed by the confidence I approached with. So she took my number and texted me right away. At this point in life I don't mind having female friends become I have zero of them as we speak (fml). The next day i send her a follow up message to which i get no reply. *See footnote

Set 4: I opened the girl doing security and had a talk with her for like 30 minutes. I flirted a bit. Told her how her eyes light up when she smiles. Then at number close she is like, she has a boyfriend...but quickly adds she wants to be friends. So i'm like sure. Again I send her 2 messages to which i get no reply (fml).

Set 5 and 6: I saw this cute girl dressed in black. I went in and again "hi. im XXX...im sure you like rock". She seemed really thrilled at that. We discuss bands and the local music scene a bit. Then suddenly she starts looking around and says she has to find her friend and starts walking away. I also start walking with her. She sees some people she knows at a table and ignores me and goes and sits with them. I just follow and open up the whole fucking table lol. One girl in the table starts talking to me. I overheard the girl I came with talk about her bf so I lose interest and just focus my efforts on this one. I asked for her facebook but couldn't get my cellphone working. I am just like, I may see you around and do a good bye.

One major regret is that I chose a God damn program with no girls. I hate that decision since that makes meeting girls a million times harder because you dont get that chance for them to get to know you forcefully which a regular class meeting together will bring about.

Footnote: But a question about flakes. Can it be that I am just so ugly that they do all that shit to be nice and just have rejection planned from the first moment? Because on the other hand I see these girls going and freakin approaching some guys themselves. The same girls that reject me will then be found flirting happily with other "bigger" guys. I am starting to think that looks do matter.
