I posted this as a comment in another submission last night, but I thought the entire community could use a good lecture on oneitus.

First, take a look at oneitus in urban dictionary - it's just too accurate.

If there's one thing I've learned during my limit tenure in this community, it's that there are an unlimited number of fishies in the sea. It kinda stings when I see guys post on /r/askseddit that some girl has friendzoned them. ..Help guys; I think it might take one more text for her to come around.. They get all hung up over her, and all I want to write is: she just not that into you - next!

My intentions are not to call anybody out, because this still happens to me, and more often than I'd like to admit. I think that need for validation stems from years of serial monogamy, and probably from my parent's divorce, or whatever other excuse I want to give. But who cares, because eventually, after I realize that she's never going to answer my texts, she's not going to accept any dates, and there's nothing I can say, do, or write about it, I move on. Out of sight; out of mind. And then what happens next - what happens next is actually really amazing. After I get over that oneitus, I'm able to produce some of the best game I know how. I re-engage the other girls I've been ignoring and I find new ones with no fear of rejection. They respond amazingly, and I think it's because I seem overtly independent, albeit contrived.

Slowly, but surely, I hope everyone on here learns to become numb to that rejection. It's a good thing! It's helping you weed out those that aren't best for you.
