If you want to see her before hand, do it. If you don't, don't. Anything beyond that is you complicating the situation.

I'd probably just say (via email or whatever), "I don't think there will be any tension! See you there."

Maybe something good can come out of talking to her. Not getting together again but clearing the air. Make sure that she feels like you have moved on.. If she has a a good impression of the "new you" then she might spread that vibe.. and if u bump in to her at the party then other girls will see you interacting and smiling and then you become more interesting.. And since you share friends its good that you and her get along well.. you were different then and maybe she was too.

In my life i always want to have a good relationship with ex:es..
