They key is to not give any fucks. With your situation after the girl told you she didn't like you like that and you started getting nervous I would say its because deep down you wanted shit to work out perfectly with her. And because it didn't you got thrown off and you felt nervous as fuck. Ideally you should be able to maintain your frame and just appear relaxed, perhaps brush off the situation with a joke and then move on from her because she isn't interested. Also, use the word date. It makes the intentions clear that it isn't a friendly get together and plus a girl will get more excited about a date rather than a hang out. Think about if a girl asked you out ok a date you'd think ohshit I'm going on a DATE, it's an excitement factor I guess
