I'm a playful guy, or at-least I'd like to think so, so I go up to people and mess around with them a lot but it's all in good fun. I guess I have a tendency to do this with girls a lot more than I do with guys so all the girls in my program (grad school) think I'm a player and I flirt with all the girls. On the other hand, all of them also tell me I'm the sweetest guy or the cutest guy, which comes off as a back handed compliment to me, and a bit of an oxymoron with the player thing.

I've never been good at reading women, and it's something I'm working on along with going to the gym, focusing on school, and getting better at some other stuff. So Seddit, what's the consensus here? What's going on? Do I want to own this persona of the "nicest, sweetest, cutest guy" or is it biting me in the ass?

P.S I've literally never been a "player," but since I've been working so hard on myself, my confidence has gone through the roof so I approach girls a LOT more than I would have before. Still awkward as all fuck but getting better.
