This is not a rant. It's intended to help shape a better mentality.
Everyday I see people on Seddit refer to a seduction technique, routine, method, or canned opener as a "trick". Most of the people saying "trick" are, seemingly, people new to seduction and do not fully comprehend what is the art of seduction truly is. Which is okay, we were all there once.
A seduction technique is not a trick. You are not a magician. There are no illusions. You are not TRICKING your target into doing anything or DECEIVING him/her. You're using proven methods of psychology, sociology, social dynamics, or sometimes neuro-linguistic programming1 to in some form (direct, indirect, conscious, subconscious, kinesthetically) communicate to your target and achieve a desired outcome or response. Just because the common AFC way of doing things does not work and our way DOES it does not make our methods "tricks". The only difference between us and your average Joe is that we've done our research. Hooray for us and for the AFCs as well, they only make our methods more and more effective.
Some much better phrases, as mentioned previously, are "technique", "routine", or "method", all of which are commonly used by reputable PUAs in place of the word "trick".
1 NLP techniques are often criticized as being "tricks" or "deceitful". But that's for a separate debate. Each person has their own perspective on the matter.
