If you would like to advance in situations like that you have to remember that not only guys are responsible for opening conversations, yes you're shy but so are most of men and I can assure you not a single man will mind if a girl opens the convos. If you're even close to average he'll feel really good about himself.

Yeah sure the basic model has been around for ages - men are supposed to ask women out not the other way around but why wouldn't you do a conscious effort to learn to small talk because that's something you need in everyday life not only in dating

Try to think from HIS perspective, not yours. This helps a lot with the pressure of possible failure. I'm a guy and if a girl would come to talk to me after complimenting her I couldn't imagine a bad ending unless she'd stab me.

Especially after such a flattering compliment he probably thinks "I complimented her and she gave a meh reaction... She must not be interested in me" but if you would've opened a new convo he'd think "I just complimented a girl and she came back to talk to me. How cool, she must be interested" which gives him the green light.

You can say literally ANYTHING, unless you call him a dirty fucking wanker he'll think oh wow - girl came to talk to me!! A bit of awkwardness is most likely more cute than creepy but just let it flow - don't act manually

I know a girl who will always say "awww, thank you" and then always gives me a big hug. Like for when we go out to a social function and she tries hard to get ready and look good and shit. I always make sure to say "Looking good tonight. ;)" She's always over the moon that someone appreciates the effort.

(For reference, this is my girlfriends best friend. From my girlfriend I like a short "aww, thank you baby.")

You don't even have to compliment him back, but you can if you want to. If you want to get an interaction going, you could banter him a bit. Maybe playfully ask him how many times he has said that today. (Yes, it's a shit test, but it's fine.) You can also ask him what he is drinking, or what his favorite thing there is.

Girl here. I always do a trick when a stranger try to hit on me. I behave like we r frank buddies. Once a man complimented me when i was sitting in a cafe n he just entered. I placed the book i was reading aside, stood up n shook his hand with both hands n said thanks a lot dear, no one ever said that to me, let me thank u with a coffee. N as we both knew m being funny, he laughed like hell n we were really close till he finished his coffee. U can b funny in many ways, if a boy who is younger than u or look more chill type boy praise u, just go to him say thanks n ask him to buy coffee for a beauty like u. Guys like funny n frank girls more than 'wanna be classy' women (as per my observation).

I think if you say "Awww thankyou" and then say how are you? You will be golden. When you did not say anything and left he took that as a sine of disinterest. Just act interested and receptive and in the future and you should be golden. Look in indicators of interest (IOIs) And IODs. Give IOIs And dont give IODs.

It is Also importante to keep in mind that some men just like to complement women to make them feel good and are maried and not looking to date. And some men suck horibly this stuff and if you do everything right they may overthink things or just not have the brass to pull the trigger. So if things don't go anywhere (assuming you don't want to ask him out) don't feel bad.

Ok also you can casually ask him out with out being direct. Like if you are talking about some event or activity you can say "we should go" in a way that makes it sound like you actually want to go and are not just vibing with him.

My favorite thing is a woman who blatantly ignores the compliment and gets sassy in return, with a grin and a flirty attitude. It's like they're up for a game and ready to play and I love being playful and playful women. :)

Example: You look absolutely stunning today!

Response: What, like a stun gun? Like a taser?!

Which gives me something fun to play off of. (Yes...just like a stun gun, you could totally stop my heart, etc)
