Mostly it's gonna be your pictures. So use pictures where you look handsome. Posting pics of yourself doing an interesting hobby like snowboarding or rock climbing can also help your chances. If you've got a great physique, have a shirtless pic of you at the beach or swimming pool (despite women claiming that they hate shirtless pics, I've heard that being ripped and having a shirtless pic in your profile will cause a lot of women to swipe right). Also, having a group shot with a bunch of your friends can give you "social value", which women find attractive (if you do find a group shot, try to be the man in the middle: people subconsciously perceive the guy in the middle as being the leader/most important member of the group).

Don't write a novel in the description section. Just put something short and simple: maybe a funny quote or a 1-2 sentence description of your interests. Or just leave it blank entirely. Some guys like to list their height, but IMO you should only do this if you're at least 6 feet tall. If you list your height as 5'6" a lot of women are immediately going to swipe left no matter how handsome and ripped you are. Use Tinder to showcase your strengths, not your weaknesses.

OK Cupid = people read your profile, although match by photo has had the best turn around rate for me even on there. Although I have a sneaking suspicion women read your profile before replying, as a result OK Cupid has worked quite a bit for me, Tinder not as much.

Tinder doesn't work unless you have an attractive face and/or body. Also have a defining feature, because even then girls have a tough time agreeing on what's attractive or not. It's honestly not effective for that many people. Just because you can talk to someone, most girls do it for attention and validation, but they'll never actually meet up with you, let alone bang you. If you're not at least an 8 and super interesting/socially connected, forget it.

As someone who has used Tinder before, (never met anyone off it, or even talked to anyone) I swiped purely on looks, and profile picture. Example: if you are in there with another girl... swipe left. Too many people in the display pic, no idea which one is you, swipe left. Too far away to properly see your face, swipe left.

Like I said though, I wasn't on there for its intended purpose so maybe I'm not the best girl to ask.

You can put up six pictures so make sure you're showing off as many parts of your personality as possible. You also have to think about what kind of girl you're after. Do you want a girl who swipes right on ab photos and bathroom selfies? Or by your self proclaimed height? No judgement, but I don't. I put up a link to post I wrote on this exact topic actually.
