You can't do much to it according to observable reality.

There is 0 truth to that statement. You're ignoring simple action/reaction.

It's all guessing and picking what makes more sense.

All science starts with a guess. The guesswork in TRP theory was conceived a long time ago, and we prove that it works over and over.

I apologize but I have to backslide a bit. E. Psych is not pseudoscience. Pseudoscience is just another word for bullshit. Social sciences may not be as developed as the theory of gravity but it isn't a pack of lies. No science is 100% and anyone who tells you otherwise knows nothing of scientific method.

A lot of things that aren't based on science work fine.

But things that can't be tested with science don't work at all. Things that work but don't make sense are that way because the wrong explanation for why it works was given.

You're right on that, sorry for misusing the word. I meant people treat E Psych like it's as solid as other evolution theories, but it's not hard science at all.

But things that can't be tested with science don't work at all.

Science right now is super developped but it wasn't always like that. Hunting, war, martial arts and other kinds of knowledge developped into nearly optimal forms almost entirely without science. I know research about agrarian midwifes in Brazil, many of their childbirth techniques work better than obstetrician knowledge. Of course all those kinds of knowledge can be tested by science; but sometimes science just isn't there yet, and corporativism is also a thing. Anyway, a lot of men always knew "game" before even behavorial psychology existed. Awesome technique can be learned/developped by practice and common sense alone.

What I meant is that we can't really discern what behavior was just a random mutation, what is here today because of selection, and what is actually cultural (even if it's present in different cultures). There is no way to test it. We just try to argue what makes most sense.

We could say all knowledge starts with a guess. What makes science different is that the guess is tested. E Psych can't be tested, that's why I'd say it's not anything like hard science. You can't test E Psych what was you were originally claiming.
