Practice getting into fun conversations. Be playful with the customers with friendly banter.

Yes definitely use customer interaction to improve your interpersonal skills. I'll give you an example. I did a temp job helping people fill out forms, working face to face, and since we were handling personal information, it was absolutely forbidden to hit on a customer or take their numbers or anything (even if they gave them to you separately, even if they asked you out).

It was a highly structured job, and there were always lines of people waiting. It was the same interaction, over and over, with little variation. Over time, I gradually noticed that my voice had more impact on the interaction than I ever expected. Since the script didn't change much, the only thing that changed was my tone of voice, speed, etc. If I was tired or in a hurry, my voice would sound less pleasant and I came across as impatient. This usually resulted in cranky, unhappy customers. So I worked a lot on making sure my delivery was pleasant, not too fast, and not too monotonous. And customers were much happier.

Ask every person that comes in a question other than how their day is. Ask them what they've been doing or where they're going. Is this mildly intrusive? Yes. Is it mildly intrusive in a good way? A lot of people think so, and you'll be able to tell who these people are because they'll respond enthusiastically and like they enjoyed being asked.

Then you can keep going if they seem friendly and like they enjoy telling you about themselves. If they got back from work ask what they do. If they're going out later, ask where. If you do this with a friendly and "I'm interested in you" vibe people start telling you things about themselves and THAT is the seed that starts seduction: People opening up to you.

Also you can still flirt with a girl at work, especially at a college computer store. If you really hit it off with a girl who comes in and you've had a nice conversation with some flirty eye contact and laughing give her a store card and put your twitter or instagram handle on the back. Don't even try to act like it's a business thing either. It's nice, professional enough for a college tech store and it's WAY better than nothing. Admittedly a lot of girls won't bother but some do so you just have to look at it as being better than the alternative. Plus just knowing you put yourself out there actually feels good once you do it a few times. Plus if a girl adds you on instagram after doing this she's pretty damn interested. Chances are she'll hit you back if you message her on there so you can kind of go from there with some confidence knowing she's showing interest.

I worked as a cashier for 5 years. This immensely helped my small talk/establishing value game or just overall game. Why? Because you pretty much get less than a few minutes to make establish a good first impression. You get good at getting your points across. Use this to really nail down your introductions. You can use this to Improve your vocal confidence, eye contact, body language. You also will become very good at reading people and responding to them quickly and adjusting. The pay was shit but what I learned was priceless.
