Roosh has a good technique on this in his book day game. He calls it elderly game. Starting a conversation like an elderly person. Starts with the girl having a prop. Such as an iPhone, laptop, book, etc. then you go from there. Say excuse me, is that book good? Then go from there, ramble on about the book/iPhone and throw in some hooks about your life (travel, experiences, etc). Eventually you get a solid conversation going.

Earlier this week I was shopping for a gift exchange. I asked a cute girl next to me if she thought it was a good gift. Opinion opener. Then I went on about how the people were a little picky at the party. Just basically rambled. For some reason this works. It's good practice to start conversations with anyone. Old people, men, anyone. After a while you get the hang of it.

The most common reply given to these threads are it really depends on the moment, the girl, the scenario. I (and im sure op) could use some actual examples of what has worked for people (describe the scenario if its necessary).

You don't need to get super cute or fancy. I don't see a reason to. Every interaction you have with other people is going to be contextual, so just pay attention. Like her earrings? Think she has a weird laugh that got your attention from across the room? Bring that up.

Oh, and when all else fails just be straight. "I saw you and knew I'd be kicking myself later if I didn't come talk to you", etc. in your case.

Just start with something. "What time is it?" For example. As you get better you'll see that it doesn't fucking matter. You can open with the biggest bullshit, but it works anyway. It's all about delivery.

Context, setting, and circumstance.

What was she wearing, what was she looking at, what store are you guys in, what's going on the background, is Christmas music playing?

After you've picked your poison send her a quip "Ugh, don't you just hate how they play these Christmas songs on repeat?"

Wallah, you just opened a girl in a 'non creepy' way.

Just be perceptive and observational. There's almost always something to talk about.

I start with a plain statement almost always. "Hi, I'm Lasher, I'm 34 and I'm single. What's your name?" They laugh most of the time. Once they laugh, they feel comfortable, and that helps to start into a real conversation with her knowing your true intention off of the bat.

If she's open, she'll enter your frame and steer the conversation your way from that point.

Don't be afraid to look up canned routines! They're like training wheels for people who've never naturally approached girls and escalated.

Something that is remarkably effective is entering State. We don't talk about State much here because it's not often within our control, but I'm confident that if you approach several people as your strolling around in the mall and then you see this one chick, conversation will be effortless at that point. When you're in State, you're just going through the Game in easy mode. When I'm in State, I sometimes find myself just extending my arm to the girl and looking her straight in the eyes and say whatever's on my mind. It's always beautiful.
