Something that allows for conversation and presents opportunities for physical touch. Bowling, a walk in the park, playing billiards at a bar, and dancing are all good first date ideas. Try to do 2-3 activities during the course of the date, spending about an hour on each one. This creates the impression that she's spent more time with you than she actually has.

Dinner dates and movie dates are bad first date ideas because they inhibit conversation and don't allow for much physical contact. Plus, they're tired and cliche. "Dinner and a movie" is probably the most unoriginal date idea there is. Show a little originality.

I have answered this question on here before. I take a chick to something I want to do - lately it's been going to the beach or hiking. When we go to the beach we go for a nice long walk and chat - the same with hiking. I'm getting some exercise, having good conversation. It's fun, there are plenty of things to comment on, and there are endorphins involved.
