I'm looking for constructive criticism of something I've been doing at the club a lot lately. I'll be walking around the club and when I catch eyes with a girl, I'll make a silly face at her (cross my eyes, stick my lip out to the side, Jim Carrey type stuff). If she smiles or giggles I walk directly over to her and ask her name. If she doesn't smile or sneers at me, I just laugh and do something like make a phone gesture with my hand and mouth the words "call me" and move on.

I started doing this for a few reasons:

  1. It's polarizing. People either love it or hate it. I never get indifference.

  2. It's an easy way to catch the attention of someone who's very far away, or in a big group.

  3. It's kind of a filtering system, because, to me at least, it says something about the personality and state of mind of the girl by her reaction.

  4. It puts me in a silly mood and one of abundance.

So why don't I just keep this up after experiencing success with it?

  1. It may be viewed as clownish. I don't really get that vibe, but it's an obvious counter argument.

  2. It's semi indirect in the sense I'm not just walking up to the girl and saying something without the filtering. Maybe I would have even better results with more direct approaches, or a mix of the two.

Typically I pull lots of numbers and make out a lot with girls at the club, but very few F-Closes. I don't know if my current approach will improve things or not (only been doing it a couple weeks), but I'd love any input from the community to tweek this to my advantage.

Thanks guys (and gals)!
