I am too lazy to look up the quote, but someone noted that people who lack good discernment often mistake the expression of discernment by another of that critical faculty for cynicism or bitterness. It is neither.

If you are in a room of 20 random people, and you have excellent discernment relative to the rest, you will often be called bitter, angry, or cynical if you express what you see occurring around you. Most people live in a constant state of either willful or unknowing ignorance about the reality of their social circumstances. And they call you names if you threaten that ignorance.

What you call negativity, I would call honest assessment.

Understand that the TRP is heavily biased. This is where part of the cynicism comes from, because it exists to appeal to cynical men who have a history of rejection.

If there is any negativity associated with TRP it is merely a side effect. It is not the intended goal.

Its not cynical if its true.

Or, at least, true enough to work.

Plus, the ones who are the loudest are still in the anger stage, most will calm down eventually.

Not cynical, just realists. Part of TRP is developing more realistic expectations when it comes to women and relationships.

Managing expectations are important. For example, I'm an accountant. If a tell a client that they owe 1,000, but then instead they get a refund of $500, then they're really happy. However, if I tell a client that they're getting a refund of $7,000, but then they only get back $500...they are pissed off.

Society has been telling us that we're getting a HUGE refund, when we're really just getting a modest refund. That causes people to be pissed off.

tl;dr - My job and TRP are all about managing expectations.
