As the guys at RSD put it: Don't get bitter, get better! Perhaps even study and learn from his success: What is he incorporating (knowingly or otherwise) that spikes attraction? Why are girls responding like that? Don't just point your finger at his looks - Look beyond that!
The first friend I introduced to pick up came down eventually had this whole anxiety break down and shed tons of confidence that I thought he had. It's an interesting story but that's besides the point. Get better! Don't let bitterness and resentment get the best out of you. He might turn out to be your means of breaking from your current sticking points. Who knows!

Sounds like it has nothing to do with him..
you are feeling that it is not fair to you, all the effort you put into daygame is not paying off and you are directing your anger/jealousy towards to your friend.
If you cant learn from your friend and his success bothers you so much just try to do your own thing for a while until you get some good results and check with him. Once your desperateness reduces his success wont bother you

Oh I totally agree that it's on me. I figured that was pretty clear.
He's doing nothing wrong, he's just "gaming" and killing it. My frustration comes from the fact that all my effort (like you said) is not paying off.
I might do my own thing for a bit until I get some good results and then start gaming again with him.
Thing is, he has no idea what he's doing "right", he simply opens direct and just talks... then he number closes and the girls basically ask him out.

You're just upset that your friend is taking away your permission to become and act like a guy capable of having success.

I have no idea why you would introduce a guy to pickup who obviously already has the skill.
This was a frustrating read; this being online I have no idea exactly why there is a discrepancy in your success, or if the girls he's talking are actually that hot.
