I read here that the consensus is that online dating sites suck and I can't agree more, but what are the alternatives?

I'm not looking for party girls that smoke and drink and get wasted on a daily or weekly basis.

I want someone more nerdy, that like to go out to nature but also likes to stay home, someone that workout would be nice too and preferably a student (like me) or a graduate, these kind of girls aren't going to be at the clubs and neither do I.

I see these kind of girls on online dating sites but even with a fine(ish) profile and good first messages I almost never hear from them back and if I do, I stop getting replies after one or two exchanges (it's a little ironic that those girls also say they're looking "for someone who's done playing games and want a serious relationship").
