It's all about context. As the bartender point's out, he has a very advantageous position so for him it's really not even a question. I've been out to clubs a lot in Toronto and I've taken girls home same night on a handful of occasions, but it's always about the context of that night. Some questions to always ask yourself are:

What is your relationship to her?

Is she a random you met at the club? A friend of a friend? Maybe someone you know from your old high school? I'm taking the perspective that you would only have one chance at this girl.
Who is she with?

A large group of mixed gender? a small group of her friends? Maybe she's just with one other friend or on rare occasion might be out on her own.
What mind state is she in?

Is she intoxicated? Is she having a good night or a bad night?

The first question is really important because it sets up a sense of boundaries and codes of conduct immediately. If shes a random, you have to be a little more careful in your approach as you have a much higher chance of being turned down simply by the fact that they don't know you. If you know them at all, even a chance meeting in the subway, or know one of their friends then you have a small window of opportunity to earn their trust.

The second question gives you a more of a plan to work off. If a girl is with a large group of mixed gender, on of the best ways to talk to her is to befriend one of the guys in the group through simple conversation. Give him a smoke or something along those lines, ask him about what he does, make the conversation about him. People love talking about themselves and love you for being so interested in them. The same goes for women, BTW. Now you know her friend who will vouch for you at least for the fact you're a nice guy. If she is in a group of all girls you may have a harder time, however the same principles apply, just with a softer approach. Girls simply have to be more careful about who they trust for obvious reasons. So you should play it subtle and maybe strike of a very casual, very simple conversation with on of her friends. Be genuine and kind so that they don't immediately peg you as another fuck boy and totally ignore you. If you're successful in this when the time comes for her to lean over to her friend and ask "Who's this guy? Do you know him?" She'll say "I met him here but he's really cool/chill/nice" cue introduction to beautiful woman. From this place you can make conversation with her and ask her about herself. Don't only ask questions but make sure when you say something it's about her, not about you. So many people I see do this and it's a total game killer. Attraction begets attraction. People become attracted to you when they see you attracted to something/someone.

This third question needs a warning. I will state very clearly right now that Consent is the #1 most important thing. Real, solid consent. Taking advantage of anyone who's unable to control their actions is cowardly and despicable.

Now then! Men and women like to get fucked up, plain and simple. Just like guys, when girls drink or do drugs it lowers their inhibition and just like most of us makes it easier to talk to people and not feel nervous. You want to have a buzz going but never hit sloppy. You need to be interesting and witty while relaxed and getting too fucked up ruins any chance you have.

You also have to be observant and take note of how she is feeling. If you notice she isn't having the best night then you can try and cheer her up, maybe talk to her about her problem with the genuine intention of listening to her and validating what she says. Don't try to fix her problem just listen and be understanding. If she seems upset, you might want to look for another girl because as they say "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". If she is having a great night and is very happy try to meet her energy level. Be happy about your own night even if you aren't. Talk about how awesome the DJ is or whatever, be elated.

If you carefully consider all these things you'll start to see how easily things can come together. However all of this has to be executed properly. Execution is everything in this game. Just remember these tenants of being a good conversationalist. Words are your greatest seductive tool.

Make everything you say is about the person you're talking to.

i.e. Girl: "I'm studying X"

You:"That's really cool! What made you want to go into that?"
Happy people are prettier

Seriously, you always want to have it in the back of your mind that it doesn't matter if you get this girl or not, enjoy just talking to a beautiful woman, it's truly a gift to have the company of a smart, gorgeous woman for even a moment and we take it for granted because we're young. Enjoy her eyes and her voice, not just her body. (Well, okay maybe she has a really nice ass, these girls are hitting the gym these days)
Be genuine!

People can smell insincerity from a mile away so you need to be real. Be happy with who YOU are and accept that taking a girl home isn't what the night is about. It's about having fun. Then and only then can you actually achieve the goal of sweeping some girl off her feet because she sees how happy and confident in yourself that you are and she's attracted to that.

There's so much to be said on this subject and i have other stuff to do (Vermintide) but I invite anoyone with questions to shoot me a pm. I was a fucking fat nerd in high school and suffice to say I've come a LONG way in terms of my social abilities. I know what it's like to be terrified by the prospect of talking to a woman, but it all goes away if you just follow the steps. Be interested, Be Happy, Be Genuine.

Once you enter the zone of [Hot guy who is super chill] you're gonna have problems picking between girls.

I am 19 years old and if you define successful with having sex in the end of or during the night I say zero, I have been close but that is with older women and in those cases I have been lying about my age. The other part is that I have been making out with a lot of girls at clubs. My opinion is that its very hard for same day lay in clubs or bars if you are young.

I have seen older pickup people getting girls to go home with them. I haven't seen it with people my age because of I think young girls at the clubs here in sweden have a diffrent mindset when going out and some innocent making out is okay because they don't make that big leap to go home with the guy and older women can do that easily because of they are more sexually conscious (think thats right word) they also know that taking this big leap in going home with this guy isn't that big.

My non pickup friend who is actully pretty good with the ladies had a girl in the club. The girl really liked him and they had then sex a week after and I think you can aim for that sometimes but I don't say try to go all the way, I am still trying to go all the way but for now I am not successfull with it and I am kinda excited to get a bit older so I can get those lays

I'm 21, I'm over 100 lays...90% would be from clubs/bars. I've had over a thousand make outs at least. But I wouldn't say it's "success". It is what it is.
