Hey y'all,

I consider myself fairly attractive, as well as intelligent, confident, and sociable. I'm also decently flirty. I love meeting people, and am very happy with my life and where it's going. However, I have trouble developing relationships / hooking up with women I'm attracted to.

I've asked my closest friend's to give me some honest criticism for why that may be, and the consensus was that I always place myself second to my friends. This is absolutely true: my preferred role in social groups so far is to place myself as the guy behind the scenes making everything work out for others - be they friends, coworkers, or otherwise. Think Donna from Suits / Stamper from House of Cards.

With regards to women, I am ALWAYS a wingman, even if I don't mean it. If a friend shows interest in a girl, I instinctively maneuver the situation in their favor, even if I have an equivalent level of interest. It's played a significant part in them getting laid on many, many occasions.

I can't seem to get over having my friends' interests trump my own. Even they say I've gotta put myself first sometimes, but I just... don't know how, I guess? I love seeing people succeed.

Anyhow, does anyone have any advice for getting over this, or rather, not letting this affect my chances with women?

Cheers
