I'm 19 and I'm not really interested in short relationships, I want one that will last for at least a few years if possible. I'm having a tough time, mostly through online dating, and I think it's because I'm too picky. At this point in my life I kind of have a small mental list of things I tend to look for in a girl and I'm not sure if they are hindering my success with dating or it's reasonable, hoping to get a weight in. Some of these are:

  • She has to be into fitness at least slightly, even walks I will accept. I just can't see myself with someone who doesn't care about their body or the food they eat again to at least a small extent plus it's a large part

  • I like passion and motivation. It can be anything politics, history, art, career, whatever, I just like someone who is super passionate about something and likes to talk about it. I always ask "what are you passionate about" and the answer is usually like sleeping or the Patriots and it's just a turn off

  • Someone who is open to things I like. This happened with another girl I was seeing. I asked if she likes Star Wars and she said "ew no it's stupid" and I said "which ones have you seen?" and she replied with "half of episode 3" and then I told her that was one of the worst and she should give another one a try sometime and she just said "no they are dumb." Like it's not really the point of not liking Star Wars I couldn't care less it's the premise of just totally denying to try something I was really put off by. This happens a lot not just with this stuff

That's pretty much it. I don't really have a "type" any race or whatever doesn't matter to me. The only physical attraction I can think of that matters is I like when a girl dresses nicely, but that's just because I'm kind of on the fashion career path so it's a big part of my life. I don't feel like I'm too picky but maybe I am and that's why I'm not successful/loose interest after a while?
