That you are not equals, she has more value than you; you feel that you dont "deserve" her.

Or they are 'better' than you for another way to describe it

Trying too hard to make her like you and letting too much of your happiness and self-esteem depend on her.

Follow up question, how do you stop doing this?
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Focus on improving your life to the point that women would make a fine addition to your life but they are not necessary for happiness. IE YOU are on the pedestal.

I work out, dress well, groom, live in a foreign country, have a stable job and a city apartment.
My life is great and I appreciate everything I have.

live in a foreign country
What isn't a foreign country?

And you still put girls on a pedestal? Then you must think you are still not enough for someone else.
[–]wwwsssppp 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah that's the problem
Do you know the solution?
[–]TheXXL 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There is unfortunately no one shot solution for this. What helped me was reminding me of a few key facts: I don't need a girl to be whole. I am the happiest when I do what I want, regardless of someone else's opinion. Then, I hung out with women most of the time, most of them are friends, and I listened to all of their "problems", asked them what they want in life, how they do things etc. It sounds strange, but this gave me the certainty that they are also people with normal problems, they make mistakes. What helped me the most was to realize that they have so many insecurities it's ridiculous. Ever wondered why some women dress so damn sharp every single day? They are constantly thinking about how others see them. I had to convince one of my female friends to go out again after she had her second baby two years ago. She told me she didn't look good enough, how people would judge her etc. It's ridiculous since she still looks hot like hell. We went out a few times and she is being hit on constantly.

Believing she's of extraordinary status, or at least 'above' you.

As I have my own knowledge on what I believe it is and I completely disagree with it, in the case that, it can actually be useful
You disagree with your own idea of "the pedestal"?
[–]EaSef1 -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Putting her on a pedestal is loving her . Desiring her but you dont take action or take the wrong action about it because you feel you dont deserve her or that you are not enough for her
Almost. Pedestal thinking is infact, believing she is a perfect human being, without faults, the best woman you have ever met, and of course the only one you will ever meet that is sooo perfect... You could better name it: glorifying her.
