Relationships have always been a mystery to me. I was always "just friends" with the girls I liked. That is before I discovered that you can learn these skills. So when I set out for college, I made the effort to get this part of my life under control. I am now a senior at my college and am happy with where I am at, but am still improving. Much like Gaul, this advice is divided into three parts.
Be Attractive
I can't stress how important this is! They need to be somewhat attracted to you physically. I'm not saying you have to be a Ryan Gosling stand in, but you should take care of yourself. After losing 20 pounds, girls started to notice. Also, if you have acne, don't be afraid to go to a dermatologist. It did me wonders. Lastly but most importantly, dress like you would want to be perceived. I'm more of a preppy guy, so button down shirts, khakis, and boat shoes are like a uniform to me. There is so much good information here on Reddit to help improve yourself. You will feel better about yourself and that alone will do wonders.
Be Intelligent
Continue to do what you are doing right now. READ! Once I started reading for fun, I was able to relate any conversation about a book or article I read. Learning, if done correctly, will become your new favorite hobby. Just pick a topic you are interested in, then learn as much as you can about it. Hell, seduction is a great place to learn psychology, biology, philosophy, and communication.
Be Emotionally Stable
A little back ground on me: I still suffer from depression, but I make sure I have control over it and it never has control over me. If you need to, seek counselling if your depression and anxiety are crippling. I also have benefited from reading philosophy and meditating. By being emotionally healthy, people will want to be around you.
How did I come to these conclusions? I looked at the three dimensions of intimacy. Any healthy relationship should have physical, intellectual, and emotional intimacy. So, by making yourself more attractive on all three accounts, women will naturally want to be involved with you. There are so many more things I could and want to talk about, but this is the advice I wish I had when I was a kid.
