Normally don't focus on one girl, but this was the first model I ever met in my four years of approaching, I didn't get to sex, but this is to reflect where I might've failed and be used as a learning to tool for anyone and everyone (including me), feedback's welcome. :)
Description: won't give a total just because, people might know who I am or she is, but she was petite, busty, skinnier legs, tan.
So I'm at work, and I'm given a break, this girl walks in and I'm kind of awestruck, but I say "Hi" anyway, small talk indirectly, and start walking with her outside where I instantly give her a direct compliment, we shake hands. She was kind of awkward with the whole meeting me and shaking my hand, so I tease her about that then we get to rapport building. I tell her to sit down with me at a table outside and we do, some quick investment.
Get her talking a lot about herself, lots of eye contact, smiling/laughing (reactions), she's qualifying herself a shit load, showing me pictures of her, telling me about all the guys chasing her, guy buying her a car, casino owners, photographer, etc. I'm pretty unfazed and laid back, I wasn't really that impressed and teased her about her ego being up in the sky, qualified herself again with "I'm humble, though" - I cut her some slack and agree.
She finally hooks, give her a super quick idea of who the hell I am and what I do, and quickly turn it back to her. We talk about her moving out of state, meeting strangers, if she has any dreams and I subtly qualify her with something like "I like meeting new people because sometimes I might hit the jackpot - you might be the jackpot who knows. :)", I gently hold her hand (it's kind of clammy haha, confidence boost) and she laughs and looks away. She also asks about when I was last in a relationship (never had this with a just-met-you-5m-ago girl) and we connect on our personalities, both perfectionists, laid back, etc.
Once there's a decent connection and some tension we start talking about a coffee, get a day, at first I try to get her address but realized I overstepped my boundaries after she stopped after the address but no street, and she gives me some logistics with holes in them (no car, no idea where she'd be that day, she's just visiting), exchanged numbers and joked about it being spontaneous and discreet and she even said "Fuck my photographer, he doesn't need to know about me going out with a guy". We part with a lot of we'll figure it out, just hit me up, I hug her, she exclaims I'm tall, stand next to her for a second, then disappear and she gives a warm goodbye.
From that I thought it was very "on" - if I wasn't at work I'd totally try to escalate further, but... I was at work. Text her later that evening, get a really warm response, then text her two days later about our date and what time. No response, fuck - where'd I go wrong... then I send her something kind of experimental but decisive/non-needy the next day.
- "X, I got the hint, nice meeting you... etc."
Then she instantly texts back she was sorry and "just totally forgot to text you back" - probably an excuse but she's hooked again. Tell her I thought she wasn't interested and confirmed the date, no response again... I figure this girl is just naturally dodgy and ADD because she's a model and has 15 guys on her at all times, so I call her and leave her a voicemail essentially telling her she seems cool and it'd be nice to figure out who that girl is underneath the model (she ate this up when we first met) - she's at a movie, okay. I wait an hour, she texts me the classic "what're you doing :)".
This is where I think I slipped up and came off a little too needy, told her a vague answer, and then to call me. No call, okay - maybe she's still with whoever the hell, fucking mini-celebrity girl... Ask her the same question (what're you doing), bad play... emotions were starting to take hold of me, no response. Give a hail Mary call just because I know it's botched and there's no going back, no voicemail this time, though. After another 30 minutes I text:
- "Sounds like you're busy. Let's try to get together another time, no need for us to hang around and bug each other."
...no response. The end.
Mistakes:
- Approach was fucking textbook, follow up was amateur, need to be better on scheduling a date over text
- Started investing too much as soon as I first called her
- Took her "forgot to respond" at face value, she might be ADD but she likely wasn't interested enough to cut me a slice of her time if she was dodging my texts about the date
- Anything you see? What would you have done in the end?
