Either way, it's still called a shit test. Besides, you WANT to get shit tests...because girls do them when you are doing well....to see if you are real and can handle them.

They aren't a girl being cold and calculating. It's literally a girl trying to feel out your boundaries/limits.

It's what people do. Which is why the advice is always keep your ground.

Call them whatever you want. They're a way of girls screening for cool confident men. Girls want to know if you have value and boundaries. In this sense, "test" is quite an appropriate word.

They're not women's conspiracy plan against us, they're just an evolutionary method to make sure you're actually a masculine men with good genes and behavior.

Pass them and you will score "attraction points" for sure.

that's just like saying when we (men) flirt with a cute girl we're not trying to get in her pants, we are just acting on our general feelings at the time.

When men and women interact, we are all just doing what our instincts tell us to do. Very little of our behavior is part of a "ploy". Obviously there are exceptions, here on this sub we basically really are part of a ploy. But during an actual interaction, its not like we are carefully choosing every word to probe at their defenses, we are just having fun and doing what feels right when talking to an attractive girl, and they do the same thing.

Also I have totally been subjected to shit tests that seem very deliberate. "let me flirt with this other girl to see what buddboy is made of". Also I have talked to girls about their opinion on shit tests, and they haven't heard to the term but basically say "oh yeah thats totally a thing"

They're basically flirting. If you think about it, whenever you flirt you're really just "shit-testing" the girl...

I mean, with both shit tests and flirting in comparison compared to neutral convo, there's only two things that happen as a result. Attraction either builds or declines.

There are "tests" in the sense that girls use your behavior as feedback to gauge you but most girls are not playing games, sitting around plotting to fail you. And we do the same thing to them. We subconsciously take feedback during an interaction and if the girl says anything weird, a red light goes on in your head, that is, assuming you have standards and know what kind of girl you don't want to be with.

Problem here is this sub and the community in general for the last 10 years has been overboard with shit tests, to the point people with little social experience start to think everything is a test and forget how to act normal. That's all amplified by essay length posts on how to defuse shit-tests where I swear to god you need a flowchart to understand. Like, you really gonna remember all that shit in real life when you have like 1 second to respond???

If you don't know yourself, what you will and won't tolerate, and how to communicate this to a girl, then your reality and identity is WEAK. No matter how many shit-test posts you study and try to emulate, for every "test' you pass, you're gonna fail 10 of them.

pretty much agree, with this. To add to it:

girls are more emotional than guys and they tend to talk more. They definitely tend to talk about emotions and thoughts right off the top of their head. This leads to the wrong impression. for instance at this moment, they just want to be friends; does that make them a game player? or seeking validation? They're just not feeling it at the moment and are saying that. men are usually that in open about expressing emotions.

some girls can give insults right back to men; this often comes as a shock to men. Oftentimes, they are more perceptive than men and can read between the lines: like they can tell he's using a not so subtle indication of value, they can tell he's needling or negging. They pick up on this stuff and sometimes give it right back.

a few women are status seekers, climbers, gold diggers etc. but the vast majority are not. This can lead to stereotyping that all women are bitches, etc.
