I want to challenge a common piece of knowledge here on r/seduction: I think it is good to put women on a pedestal. If a woman is kind, caring, loyal, and a good person, you absolutely should compliment her on that and give her extra respect and adoration. You should also go out of your way to be a good person to her.
That said, a woman being hot is not a good reason to put a woman on a pedestal.
There is a joke in the stand up comedy world that says something like “the most powerful/valuable thing on earth is pussy.” Here’s the thing: that’s a lie. It’s not true. The most powerful thing on earth is not pussy because pussy is incredibly common. All women have one. And about 1/3 of all woman are decent looking and, being very conservative, I’ll say that at least 10% of all women are hot. That’s a lot of pussy.
You know what’s a lot more rare? A good man. I don’t mean a nice guy who has a decent job, but a genuinely attractive guy: a guy who is confident, living an awesome life, looks decent, and will treat you well. In terms of sheer numbers, that guy is a lot more rare than a beautiful woman. I’m not making an inspirational speech, I’m just talking numbers. A woman’s criteria for an attractive guy is a lot different than a man’s criteria for an attractive woman, and most guys don’t stack up. Most women, especially in our modern society, are settling and are on the lookout for a better option than the guy they are with. You may say “that’s bullshit, there are plenty of nice guys that would be good boyfriends.” But that’s just not what women want. Women want an experience, and those “nice guys” are too boring and pathetic to provide it. Mind you, women WANT to like those nice boring guys because then they can finally be happy, but they just can’t muster up the enthusiasm, and oftentimes end up alone rather than hang out with boring guys they don’t like that are way into them. In addition, in our modern society boys are failing so there are way more intelligent, educated women with good careers than men to match them.
I’m 33, so I’m a lot more old than most of you guys. If you’re still in high school or college you may see girls as going for the jock or the bad boy and thinking that you can never be that. But that is a very temporary phase. In the real world, being good at sports or being tall isn’t enough to keep a woman’s attention.
At my age I have seen everything. I have seen 9s and 10s with some of the ugliest, weirdest, no personality having, terrible guys on earth. I used to admire guys who got hot girls but after what I’ve seen no more. I’ve seen beautiful woman living in terrible conditions, living terrible lives, and bouncing from unhappy relationship to unhappy relationship. Society has sold women a lie that their value is tied to being hot but the problem is that being hot is so common there is very little value in it.
Society sells us a lie that being a hot girl is a magical thing and is the pinnacle of success in life for every man. It’s not. You can have sex with a 10 in Miami or LA for $300. I’ve seen 9s and 10s genuinely fall in love with terrible guys in their late 20s because they ran out of options.
And here is the fucked up thing: girls know this. Girls know that being hot isn’t that impressive. Girls know better than guys do that being hot is mostly luck, temporary, and subjective. Girls are constantly sizing themselves up compared to other girls and they know that being hot is a very common commodity. Also, women don’t want to be loved just for their looks – they know that that kind of love is temporary and subject to disappear when the guy gets tired of the way she looks or when she finds somebody hotter. That is why women aren’t impressed when you compliment their looks – they get it all the time, they know it is insincere, and even if you were being insincere, it’s not going to make them happy.
Because of society’s conditioning and their own scarcity mindset, a lot of guys put beautiful women on a pedestal. Women don’t like it because they know they are being respected for something they didn’t do anything to deserve, something that is super temporary, and something that they sometimes have to starve themselves for.
Let’s say you take a shit on a canvas and try to sell it to a modern art museum. The museum buys it for $5 million and makes you a famous artist because your art was “brave.” Now let’s say that all these art nerds start complimenting you on being a great artist. You will probably smile and nod, but deep down in your heart you won’t respect those guys because you know that they are complimenting you for something that really isn’t that impressive. You ESPECIALLY wouldn’t respect somebody who “put you on a pedestal” for doing a shit painting. Telling a woman she is special because she is hot is like giving her counterfeit money – and she knows that.
And here’s the most fucked up thing: Once you reach a level when you can get hot girls whenever you want, you stop caring about it. Of course, biologically men are more attracted to beautiful women, but that attraction is relatively weak compared to our desire for somebody is nice, loyal, fun, loving, caring, intelligent, etc... A lot of the most attractive guys I knew growing up ended up marrying girls that were just average looking. I never asked them why (it’s kind of rude to tell a guy his wife is ugly), but I suspect that they fucked so many 9s and 10s when they were young that being super hot girls have lost their “magic” and they realized that they are much happier with a decent person than with an asshole who was a 10. And guess what? Most genuinely attractive guys – i.e., the guys that women actually want – think like that – because of their abundance mentality, the magic of beautiful woman is gone. The only guys my age that chase super hot bitches are the dudes who never got laid in high school. I suspect a lot of those guys are healing their insecurities much more than actually enjoying their time with the hot bitch. I can say personally that I have dated some super hot girls that have been awesome, but overall I much prefer somebody who is intelligent, fun, interesting, smart, hard working, etc... than to somebody who is just hot.
If you really want to touch a girl’s spirit, compliment her on a good deed that she did or on something she accomplished. Compliment her intelligence or her personality or something that is actually valuable. Even superficial club whores who seem to devote their entire life to being hot realize that those things are more important, they just know that given their intelligence, discipline and addictions, they just can’t be that well-rounded women. If you’ve ever actually dated one of those super hot nightclub socialite type girls, you will realize they are on a never ending quest to prove that they smart, hard working, ambitious, etc..., because they realize that’s what’s actually important.
I’m usually against the idea of “negging” but if you’re talking to a super hot girl a good line is to ask “so what’s the coolest thing about you.” They will usually be too ashamed to say “I’m hot” and a lot of them don’t have anything cool really going on. This line will show to them that, unlike most guys they run into, you aren’t hypnotized by a beautiful ass and you still live in the real world. And women are actually a lot more attracted to guys who live in the real world and understand the game. And in a weird way, asking her this question makes you out to be much more of a “nice” guy than the guy who compliments her ass because you are basically saying to her “listen, if we date, it’ll be because of your attributes that are actually impressive and valued by society, not just because you are hot.”
Shifting to this mindset will be difficult because it seems like almost every movie, TV show, commercial, the hot girl is idealized as a perfect angel and the goal of life. But you MUST get over that idea. You’ve never gone home with a 8 and end up in her filthy, disgusting apartment in the ghetto part of town with her prescription drugs scattered everywhere. You haven’t had the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen tell you that she couldn’t pursue her dream of being a model because she was one inch shorter than the height cutoff. You’ve never had a super hot girl cry in your lap because she had to move back to her small shitty town because she couldn’t find a job in the big city. You’ve never had a girl beg you to come pick her up because she didn’t have enough money to fix her car. Etc...
Let me tell you: being a hot woman is not necessarily glamorous and you putting them on a pedestal just because they look hot not only looks ridiculous to them it proves that you know nothing about them or their life.
