This is not an equal relationship, as friendship between men usually is. What you have is "orbiting beta male status". The girl allows a man to orbit her because he provides her with useful services. He pays her admiring attention, he opens the door, he gives her rides to parties, he listens to her emotional outbursts, and so forth.

Women have no idea what's going on when men who have clearly been accepted as orbiting beta males try to somehow change the relationship to one that involves sex. You know, I was buying it and trying to distract myself away from the fact that think she's super sexy but when she was saying that she was one of those girls who likes the bad boys, James Dean etc, then goes on to say 'just be you, and look for someone who will want you for you' I lost it.
