Should you pick a girl up for a date or meet them there?

I guess this is a typical American thing, since where I live most people just meet at the place they want to visit. Also it would be stupid for me to meet a girl at her home, only to then go back via public transportation to the place to meet, since it's absolutely unpractical to own a car in a city like where I live, we have public transportation everywhere.

What's more, you're not going on a date with us, silly. How about you communicate with your date and ask them which one they would prefer.

Offer them the choice. I do this with any girl I go on dates with, I say something like "Do you want me to pick you up or would you rather meet there?" after figuring out when/venue. Nothing really wrong about it, have never had a girl say no to me picking her up and us going together.
