I have trouble making friends with strangers and that makes me really bad at meeting women. Now, I have plenty of friends but almost all of them I met through a mutual friend. I'm perfectly fine talking to people once we're already in a social situation but I can't for the life of me get into a conversation like that without another friend to introduce us. I think it's because I prefer to listen and respond than to lead a conversation, which serves me quite well most of the time, but it totally destroys my chances of meeting girls I would want to date. Does anyone have some advice they think could help me out? Maybe a book I could read or some specific skill I could work on? I just don't know where to start attacking this issue.
