She's using you as a crying shoulder, and she knows she can. This may hurt to hear, but this is also the reason why she never dated you in the first place.

My opinion: be a friend, but don't give her all your attention. You're a better person than that and deserve to be desired -if you wish it so.

Women are like cats in that aspect, you give them too much attention and they claw/bite/don't want you at all. But giving them just enough to make them wonder why you're not giving them ALL your attention makes you a reason for her to always strive to obtain all your attention. Dating and being active, knowing that she's keeping tabs on it, doesn't hurt with this kind of game either. Acting this way, being your own person, may even make her see that there are better people out there and leave her boyfriend to chase after you.

"I've tried to cut her out of my life but she doesn't understand that" ++ so i let her continue to whine and bitch at me and use me as her girlfriend. She wants validation and to feel attractive so she uses me as a tampon to up her ego while she's making up bullshit excuses ('emotionally cheated on me': ridiculous) and getting railed by a guy that is better than me.

You're gonna have to lay it out straight to her how you feel and then stop replying to her after you've spelled it out for her. She needs to break up with this guy otherwise you are not interested in her as a friend right now.
