If you're looking for a serious relationship, don't start one with a cheater. I've done it twice, married (and divorced) one, and both times it ended as one would expect.

The two main things to consider are this:

1) What type of relationship/encounter/experience are YOU looking for? Do you just want sex, dating, a relationship? Decide what you want and proceed accordingly.

2) What kind of experience do you think SHE wants?

I've had flings with married/LTR women, but I went in with open eyes and closed heart and low expectations. It was just sex in nearly every case. And I made a point to make sure that if her relationship with the other person ended, it wasn't because of or for me. At the end of the day, you have to accept that if she's going to have sex with someone outside her relationship, I doesn't mean just you. You can't make a person cheat.

Putting aside morality, I think it's a waste of time. A lot of women are unhappy in their relationships, and they try to fix that by getting attention from other guys. But at the end of the day, they go back to their husbands/bfs. Fuck that. Why would you take that risk that she is just using you for attention. yeah, she might be down to cheat, but the chance she doesn't is high. Also, she has the position of power in that relationship because she can shut you down at any point by saying "I told you I had a boyfriend, it's your dumb asses fault for continuing to pursue." I would only hang out with a girl in a relationship if she made it clear she was going to fuck me.

This is going to depend on where you are.....most of the advice from this forum is from guys in large metro cities with diverse dating cultures.

So they instantly are going to tell you to leave.....

BUT reality is that in most of rural and mid-America.....EVERY attractive girl is usually going to have a "boyfriend"...the social pressure from family and friends is too much for a woman to not be attached and moving toward that great wedding at all times.

So if you are in those locales and you follow their advice then you are going to end up with the broken, the crazies, the single mothers or maybe you will win the jackpot and stumble across one of these attractive girls in the 5 mins before she broke up with one placeholder BF and started dating the next one.

Virtually most of my relationships and most friends, including ones married for years, started with a girl whom had a "boyfriend".

You have to make the call on each individual girl.

I don't really care about that, the girl is the one who has to decide whether or not to cheat on her guy, I am not the one being intact committed relationship, so it's not my responsibility. I have a female friend who told me she was cheating regularly on her boyfriends since she was 16,and now she's in her mid 30s, married has two children, and feels the need to, and I quote "disappear for a night to blow off some steam and then get back to her family without any questions asked". She told me that she loves her husband but just feels like she needs the thrill sometimes. That's the main point in this, people are not made to stay only with one partner for extended amounts of time, it's in our biology. Most people just choose to deny themselves that urge, and all know how common cheating is and how many relationships or marriages end after short time.

One thing to consider though, if a girl cheats with you on her guy, she will most likely also cheat on you as well.

Weird and awkward encounter has recently made me ponder where to draw the line on building your own personal skills with women.

We can't tell you this. YOU tell you the answer for this.

I can say though, that your dating goals matter when deciding this. Are you after something casual right now? Or something serious?

Another thing to consider is the potential for drama and whether you want that in your life. Some cheaters are good at being emotionally manipulative and can fuck your head over when you thought it was just for fun. They also might create conflict between the men in their lives by being less than discreet at hiding their affairs because they want to be found out.

What do you mean by this? Of course, there's a difference. But if you're asking this, you mean something that you're being unnecessarily vague about.

So, in 60% of the cases, getting with a girl in a relationship is the thing to do. This way, you give her alternatives, make it easier for her to break up, even though you might not be the guy she will be together with subsequently. You prevent her from wasting years in a relationship that will end anyway, that makes her unhappy and that prevents her from getting to know the guy she really likes.

Thoughts?
