How do you socialize with a woman in a boring office environment?

Come up with little games to play with each other. These can be either real games or improvised ones. I've brought checker/chess boards into the office before. Make an opening move, then wait for her to make hers. A move every 2-3 hours will keep the day going more quickly and give you something to talk about.

The "improvised" games are really just opportunities to be playful. As one example, one of my co-workers has a little doll that sits on a shelf by her desk. One day I asked her about it and she said she brought it in because it made her smile. I asked if it worked and she said kind of, but she doesn't really think to look at it very often. After that I started moving the doll into subtly different positions whenever I walked by her desk and she wasn't there. Now she pretends to be mad at me when she sees that it has moved and I never confirm or deny being the one who moves it.

Another example was a co-worker who sat on the other side of a cubicle wall from me. From time to time I would just toss a crumpled up piece of paper over the wall. Before long she started throwing it back, or even throwing one at me when she was bored.

Be creative, be playful, but most importantly, be mindful of your workplace culture and any hints she gives you that she doesn't want you to keep doing whatever it is. There can be a fine line between playfully throwing paper balls over a partition and what someone might consider harassment.

ask her out to lunch...to escape the boring and quiet office

ask her to meet you at the coffee machine...you have a secret to tell her...then just explain you wanted to talk to her and needed a good excuse to get her to go. Plus...you like coffee..

Walk by and drop a note on her desk and ask her [out, to lunch, breakfast, coffee]

I just talk about what ever i feel like. Next thing you know, she is telling me all her secrets. Fine with me, i find it interesting. Of course, the insecure girls are too vapid for me, so i just ignore them.
