Learning how to approach and have conversations is not easy. The dating community has it all wrong when it comes to this. They teach people to build attraction, and then a connection and only then go for a number or a date. The problem with that is that it takes about 15 to 20 minutes of conversation. 20 minutes of free flowing conversation with a woman you just met is a hell of a job if you are just starting out. I’ve been coaching men for more than 20 years and I’ve found that short conversations of about 2-3 minutes max, are the best to get numbers and learn in the beginning. The funny thing is that these numbers are more solid than if you would have had a 20 minute conversation with more rapport in it. We test EVERYTHING. That’s why I know. Also there’s no investment in your first interaction yet. Meaning, if you have an awkward pause or a lull in the conversation, she’ll excuse herself and leave. When you are on a date with her, things are differently. That’s because she has committed to something. If you have a conversation with a woman on a date, and there’s a lull in the conversation, she won’t just get up an leave. See what I mean? You’ll also be more relaxed yourself. Cause you know she’s interested in you and cause you know she just won’t leave. Believe me, if a woman agrees to go on a date with you, she IS interested in you. No doubt about that. So the point I’m trying to make here as a possible solution for you, is to make sure you get her number and set up a date ASAP. Don’t take more than 3 minutes to do so, or you’ll have a learning curve that takes forever. Of course I’m talking about cold approaches her. I’m not talking about social circle dating or other stuff. I have a webinar that teaches you exactly how to set up dates in just 3 minutes from a cold approach, how to talk, etc.. You're not awkward, just need to figure out what your sticking points (emotional or social) are and work through them. You're gonna be forced to talk to people for the rest of your life, so might as well figure out how to get comfortable

I have to second this: you're not awkward. We all grow up with different experiences that shape our believes about ourselves - trust me, it's more likely that than anything.

Try to think about how the other person is feeling rather thank thinking. You want to connect with a person emotionally. If you're talking about theme parks don't ask what her favorite ride is, ask what other exciting things she enjoys
