How do you guys deal with chatting someone up and having friends who are hovering around that aren't interested in joining the conversation? I'm used to winning over the group and then focusing my attention on who I am most interested in, but ran into a situation this weekend where the same girl friend kept coming back to the girl 5-6x during our 20 something conversation. She (a) refused to talk after I made attempts to involve her in the chat, (b) refused to go away despite the girl telling her she would meet her downstairs "in a few minutes".

I ended up telling the girl to head down to meet her friend and walked away rather than deal with the continual interruptions and hostility.
