I was at a party yesterday, hitting on two different women. I'm conscious that I can get into serious and intense discussions pretty easily, and because I'm trying to hit on women, I try to avoid such conversations at parties. Both the times I'm joking, making fun of their lives (I think that may be a mistake I'm making) and being more playful, but after a point it seems I'm unable to connect with them.

How do you guys emotionally connect with a women and/or hit on women at parties? What topics should we talk on apart from either being funny or serious intense topics? (Also, as I write this post I'm more aware that I have some major inner game issues too.)
